Borussia Monchengladbach couldn't do anything, they actually offered him a very good new contract but he wanted a move to a Champions League team. Dortmund just paid his release clause - and didn't have problems to convince him joining them, because he's a fan, his family lives there etc.

I don't think he'd go to Chelsea right now. A top club but it seems like things are hairy there right now and it doesn't look appealing atm. I think City would just throw him on the bench and use him sparingly, like Nasri.

Also we just whooped Spurs, and Mertesacker is German so imo Arsenal is more likely than those two..

So I don't believe any of it, yet.

Would be a great move for all involved though, I probably would've prefered Poldi moving to a club that isn't stagnating, but at least at Arsenal he'll be a guaranteed starter and have a buddy there already with Mertesacker.


He'd be a great addition to any team there is though, in the form he's been in for the last one and a half seasons. Something about him joining Schalke wouldn't sit right, though it'd be boss for me since I'd get to see him play as often as I do now.

Mixed feelings, all in all. But he'll play at least EL, probably UCL most seasons, so that's a great plus, and will help his international career tremendously. Plus him finally getting to get used to good service - nice. And Arsenal play more similar to Germany than Köln does.

Arsenal have a better shot at Eriksen IMO.

He is made for EPL. Arsenal would do well signing him because he offers real penetration in final third. His creativity and link up play is underrated imo. You could see in German NT, how fast he loses his marker and can pass from everywhere

15 goals and 4 assists in 19 appearances in a crap team
