Cadena COPE will pay Barca 200,000 euros for doping accusations

They have released an official statement that reads:

In relation to the news article published the 13th of March of 2011 during the program "El Partido de las 12" from the microphones of Cadena COPE, by Mr. Alcala, about F.C. Barcelona, this medium as well as the cited journalist want to make public that the cited information has turned out to be not true and comes from an untrustworthy source, by which we recognize that there has been an illegitimate meddling of the honor of the aforementioned Club and for which compensation, COPE and Mr. Alcala will meet partially the pretensions formulated by F.C. Barcelona and executed in the trail of the 1st instance number 34 of Barcelona, Autos 670/2011, and declare that in the next 48 hours will proceeded to record in the referred procedure an import of 200,000 euros in which the damage caused has been valued.

But was this a judge's decision or is it CC that just wants this done and are trying to come away with a measely EUR 200000.00?

What i heard, is that COPE offered 200.000€ in the pre-trial negotiation, but Barça refused.

I originally thought that was all they were charged, but it looks like it was merely an offer. It's still way off Barca's 6.2M euro valuation of the damage, and Barca have not agreed to it. The negotiation will continue, but the fact that they have offered a settlement means that there was never any truth in their statements and that they made up their sources.
