Never played Mass Effect. Worth buying?

If you like RPGs then absolutely. Hands down my favorite RPG of all time, that goes above KOtOR, Dragon Age and the Fallout series (if you consider them true RPGs).

You should buy the first and second and play them before the 3rd comes out on March 6th, they'll be pretty cheap.

Just finished ME2 again, staying up till 4:30 AM in the process with school the next day. Pretty fatigued and sick as a result, totally worth it


But I can't get everyone to survive. Jack is the only one who isn't loyal and I didn't use her for any one of the final tasks and at the end it pans out to her dead body. Bugs the crap outta me.

I read up and followed the exact specifications and she still died, mind you I'm playing on insanity and that supposedly decreases the survival odds of the entire crew so I figure I'll just put it on casual and just get through it ffs.

I am GOAT, first Mass Effect 2 playthrough, no one died

You just have to make sure everyone is loyal, and get the right upgrades to the Normandy which you get hints about from the conversations. Garrus will tell you about the cannon, Tali will tell you about the shield and someone I forgot will tell you about the armour. And also in the suicide mission, pick the right people for the specific jobs.

Yeah lol, I know. But when Jack and Miranda fought I didn't have enough paragon to resolve it without choosing sides so I ended up siding with Miranda and losing Jack's loyalty and I never had enough paragon to fix it but I read online you could still get everyone to survive even if Jack wasn't loyal. Didn't work for me.

damn it,cant pick ME1 up in any store and my dirty online way of getting it only has Mass Effect 2.Shouldn't have sold this game for $5 to Gamestop :vagi:

if your savvy enough. Personally, I don't have any major gripes with losing Jack but if I knew exactly how to work one of those saves which I don't because of laziness, I would.

I had the same situation in my first play through and everyone survived.

I just didn't use Jack in any part of the suicide mission.

I used :

Shepard, Kasumi, Miranda
Legion - Tech
Garrus - Team 2 Leader

Shepard, Samara, Thane
Garrus - Team 2 Leader
Jacob - Survivors Escort

Shepard, Garrus, Miranda

All Normandy Upgrades and Loyalty missions were done.

Yeah! I did the same thing, sort of. I just used Mordin as the escort and took Legion and Garrus with me as my final squad. Whatevs, I'll put it on casual and retry.

Done and she lives! Still got no way of getting her loyalty back though. My last paragon bar is only half full and I'm obviously done with all the main missions.

Well you can always play your character again if you insist on getting your paragon/renegade bar full.

Whatevs, I romanced Tali so i dont really care much about not having Jack's loyalty.

PC,i dont think we can do that save thing on the 360 and PS3.Maybe on the 360

The site says that PC saves can be converted to console saves and vice versa. If you configure a USB to the Xbox then you can just drop the saves onto them from the computer and copy them onto your hard drive theoretically. I've yet to try it though but I'd imagine if it works like they say then that's how it would work.
