@Dani.....it all depends on the type of game we decide to play and how much we decide to consolidate posssesion.....I can see it happening.

It won't neccessarily be benificial at first there'll be a bit of disparity as to who's doing who's job....who tracks back when and that sort of thing but once we can limit the actual amount of defensive work they need to do through posession....it'll make the transition easier.Of course it means them adding another element to their game.......I would prefer if Khedira was there or (dreaming) De Rossi or son on.

Nevertheless.....Ramos fills the spaces of a pure DM many times with his superb anticipation....but he takes some risks to do so and can never really do both jobs at the same time.At least he offers them leniency in terms of facilitating their play when it's actually possible/neccesary.

Cant agree, I just aint gonna happen under Mou. Xabi stays deep and dicates play, so what does that leave Sahin to do? He wants to do that exact same thing.

He will end up trying to become a midfield runner, changing his game forever..and for the worse.

Defensively, sure you could get away with it chasing a lead (but again, offensively why would you even want it) or perhaps trying to have more possession and "see out a game" but is that all Sahin is to be? A rotational player who comes on only in special scenarios?

Rich mans Jason Kapono?

Sahin should get a few games under his belt in rotation with Alonso. But, the question is, will Mourinho play him instead of Alonso?

Probably not expecting it under Mou lol.

He is surprisingly mobile though.....he doesn't stay as deep as Xabi.....they occupy different positions once the ball is transferred to either of them.

Why we want it?

While Xabi has an amazing long ball and spreads play ridiculously well he's not the greatest at playing the final ball....Sahin is a bit better..at it.Obvious answer....he'll create chances.......he brings alot of different elements to the game than Xabi.

Once they all have someone behind them who lets them play comfortabltly I don't see as big as a problem as you think........Khedira for be offers the formation no balance in this situation....he isn't centered enough to operate behind them.....Lass maybe can........De Rossi would be ideal.

If we need it offensively I trust Ramos because his anticipation is World Class.

Ahhh, and here is the real reason this guy isn't seeing much playing time.

And for some reason, I have a feeling he won't see much, either. It's like if Barca bought someone like Modric. Why buy such a class player for a position where he will most likely be a rotational player behind Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets and co.?

Of course Madrid only has Alonso in that position (along with Khedira), but the fact of the matter is, if Sahin wants to be played properly, he has to displace Alonso first.

And that is up to Mourinho. Will he do it? Let's find out.

Of course the other part is the injury of course. People are really jumping on Real Madrid here despite Sahin being injured for quite some time. He needs time folks. Still, despite that time, I don't see him playing much.

Because it was a bargain and they could? If you have a rotation/backup player do you prefer him to be a scrub or a WC player? Also Madrid has effectively replaced Alonso before time, it was just good business all around.

Do u guys have any idea that Alonso is turning 31 this year?.......In a year or two he will no longer be fit to start for Madrid so Sahin will become the starter and Alonso the rotation guy.

Becouse Kaka has full match fitness, Sahin doesn't

Once again why would he be lying about it

I believe it 100% it's the only excuse to why Sahin is not getting playing time becouse judging by what I've seen from his attitude he is a hardworker something Mou appreciates alot
