Police find Drugs at Ferdinands restaurant.
29 bags of cannabis have been found at the Rosso restaurant owned by Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand, after drug police carried out a warranted search of a staff locker.
A junior chef at the celebrity hangout was arrested for possession with intent to sell class B drugs after raids on his home and personal locker at the Italian eatery, after three policeman carried out the search on Friday.
There is no suggestion that Ferdinand had any involvement or knowledge that his employee had possession of the drug whilst working at his restaurant.
A police statement said: “At 4.15pm on Friday 6 January 2012, police officers executed a search warrant at Rosso restaurant on Spring Gardens in Manchester city centre.
“As a result of the warrant, 29 snap bags of drugs believed to be cannabis were recovered from a locker in the staff area.
“As part of police inquiries, a 55-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of class B drugs with intent to supply and has been cautioned.”
The restaurant is seen as a regular haunt for Manchester-based celebrities, including players from the surrounding areas.
Is it all for Ronney's Galucoma
I highlighted the part in red before this gets serious.
