Official: Juve sign Borriello
Juventus have officially signed Marco Borriello on loan from Roma with an option to buy for €8m.
The striker underwent his medical a few days ago and the move has been agreed for at least a week.
“Juventus Football Club S.p.A. announce we have completed the agreement with A.S. Roma S.p.A. for the temporary signing of Marco Borriello for €0.5m to be paid during the current campaign,” read a statement on the Bianconeri website.
“The contract also gives Juventus the chance to exercise its option at the end of the 2011-12 season to sign the player on a permanent basis for €8m, payable in three instalments.”
The 29-year-old had joined Roma from Milan in the summer of 2009 on loan with a mandatory option to buy.

Re: Official: Juve sign Borriello
Now Marotta can offload Iaquinta, Amauri and Toni.
In: Boriello
Out: Amauri, Iaquinta, Toni
- Lower wage expandes (from Amauri primarily)
- More competition since Amauri, iaquinta and Toni was never considered real competition.
- The deal is only a loan. Say we qualify for CL, Marotta will probably let Boriello go back to Roma, replacing him with the "promised jewel" such as Damiao etc..

You just KNOW it's official when you see the trademark Juventus way of 3 seperate payments of the transfer price.
It will be interesting to see if he can be more clinical than our strikers are now. The one area that's costing us at the moment.

We need a world class player in there somewhere.
Rather than spend 8m on Boriello... better off saving that for a younger, class player.

They didnt spend 8m though...only 500k for the loan! It also means we can get rid of Amauri, Iaquinta and Toni who are 3 big earners at Juve so in the summer we can get a class young player! :shisha:

been trying to say that for 2 days now... but yes. Boriello must play VERY good to earn a permanent deal.. It's unlikely AND Conte probably have more faith in Matri/Quags and we'll see Boriello coming on very little like we've seen it with Elia..

I was responding to CSS saying that after Giovinco this SUMMER we are set and he included Boriello in that "summer list" of forward options
In order for Boriello to be here in the summer - wed have to fork out 8m. Id rather that 8m be put towards a great player and say thank you + goodbye to Boriello

Re: Official: Juve sign Borriello
@inder if Boriello proves his worth then why should not we keep him and make his transfer permanent ? I think is he somehow outscore Matri for ex.
