Jack Wilshere and Ravel Morrison

Could england of all countries have the best centre midfield partnership over the next generation? i cannot see another country with two such naturally talented, ultra comfortable on the ball, u21 centre midfielders. Not to mention the chelsea kid Josh Mceachran.

There are plenty of silky midfielders still coming through the spain ranks, but i dont think any of them are quite as "born to play" as these english boys

"centre midfield partnership" sort of implies that they'll be playing 442...which, with the way trends are going, seems highly unlikely in the future

It might be best to talk about midfield 3's when discussing the future

And while were on the topic of that...In Spain, for example, while Busquet, Silva, Fabregas, Thiago, Martinez are slightly older than Morrison and Wilshere...they're not old enough that they gap would be considered a "generation"

Barring some sort of dramatic shift or injury crisis the English kids are going to have to compete with the likes of them for at least 5 or 6 years one would think

In Germany, the situation is similar but with Kroos, Goetz, the Benders, Ozil, Khedira etc

I dont know anything about Morrison but I hope for Englands sake he's a defensive midfielder...They can't seem to produce a quality one of those for the life of them

Yes i agree spain have a freakish amount of talented young midfielders, in that respect they are miles ahead of england. But i think england have basically struck gold with the two players i've mentioned, apart from thiago i dont feel the other spanish kids come close.

Im suprised to see toral harper mentioned, from what i've heard on arsenal youth websites hes not even considered their best midfielder, and hes just as much english as spanish

TBF Wilshire is a gem....as great as any young midfielder out there and being at Arsenal will certainly help his cause but

Wilshire will benefit greatly from having great players around him in the future....but Wilshire is sick too.

I don't know who's better TBH but Wilshire is an tier 1 talent in the game...played 2 absolutely fantastic legs against Barca...something none of our midfielders have been able to do so far.

i cant post a link but if you search his name on megavideo it has the most clips of him on the internet

hes arguably more gifted than wilshere but im not sure i agree with that just yet

hes 18 years old, plays for man utd, and the main reason he has not made a big name for himself is his life of crime off the pitch. Its a testament to his talent that ferguson has stuck with him so far....

hes a centre midfielder that can dribble past players, he can and has been utilised on the wing, in midfield, or off the striker. Best used in the middle with freedom to make runs forward.

Tbf I rated Morrison once highly. Had raw talent. But he ended up like Freddy Adu.

I assume your talking about Canales, Alex, Miquel, Toral and Samper.

First 2...they were owned by Madrid, so that explains everything.
