A question: What the hell is Iniesta?
Iniesta is basically a small version of whatever Zidane was.
People would probably be surprised by the lack of final ball numbers Zidane gave.
Those two (and others) are just different types of guys to me. Sort of centermid, sort of number 10, sort of attacking midfield who drifts over to either side of the pitch.
This would sound crazy, but I would like to think you are describing a play maker between the regista and the trequartista. Kinda like an intermediate playmaker lol.

Should we attempt to come up with a name for this sexy position?

He definitely has made a lot of telling passes from the left Sushi but with Kroos around ,i think he definitely is the main playmaker of Bayern as far as i am concerned and going into the future as well..He's done really well in Schweini's absence as i have watched most bayern's games after Schweini's injury..

Re: Best playmaker by the IFFHS
Of course, with Kroos around, he's not the main focal point of attack, which gives him a lot more liberty but doesn't mean he can't playmake.
I chose Ribéry over Kroos just because of the time he has been Bayern's focal point, while Kroos has only done it for a few months and I'm not going the kneejerk way.
Also because he's vastly underrated here and most only remember him for those annoying injuries he used to have.
As a matter of fact, Ribéry > Robben this season.

Re: Best playmaker by the IFFHS
IMO there are three or four versions of playmakers in football.
The player who's main role in the team is to deliver the final ball. eg Cesc, Gerrard, Torres, Messi, Ozil etc
The one who controls the flow of the game from a deep position and starts most of the teams attacks. eg Sahin, Alonso, Schweinsteiger, Pirlo etc
Xavi
And the wide playmakers like Silva, Mata, Nasri, Cazorla who play in between the lines

Kind of agree.
As the name suggests, for me a playmaker is someone who makes the majority of the team's plays, who gives direction to the team's play and orchestrates offensive play.
Its not necessary that a team have just one playmaker. Some teams have just one playmaker, others might have 2.
For eg at Barca I would classify both Xavi and Messi as playmakers.

And no one would take it seriously. Just like the rest of these 'rankings' and 'awards'.
What creadible awards and rankings are out there?
I am sorry there are no more credible awards out there, even ballon d'or is highly suspicious these days.
If there is away we can deal with Real Madrid fans here, we might as well start giving our own awards and just stick to them and ignore all other awards.
Well someone's butthurt...

Even Ribery testified that Kroos is the best playmaker in Bayern sometime ago, form doesn't mean playmaking.

That's Ribery testifying that Toni Kroos is the best play-maker in Bayern, currently Toni Kroos is among the best playmaker in the world better than Oezil and the rest lots.

Exactly. That is why Modric is 14th. Ridiculous.
