I hope Poyet replaces Tabarez for Uruguay. Would hate to see him with Sunderland. Most importantly though, I'm hoping he can get Brighton promoted.

It'll probably be Mark Hughes.

I used to rate O'Neill, but he has had a failure of a season.

Still seems risky to sack him at this point, it should have been earlier or then not at all, probably.

Sun 7 Apr: Chelsea (a)
Sun 14 Apr: Newcastle (a)
Sat 20 Apr: Everton (h)
Mon 29 Apr: Aston Villa (a)
Sat 4 May: Stoke (h)
Sun 12 May: Southampton (h)
Sun 19 May: Tottenham (a)

Their remaining games are well tough, so not looking too good.

That Tyne-Wear derby is going to be massive, both sets of fans will know a Sunderland defeat would greatly work towards their relegation worries, really looking forward to that game.

What the hell? I like O'Neill, top class manager. Would've turned Sunderland into a top half side if he had been given two or three more seasons like he did at Aston Villa, signing Britishers and playing them the British way. Sunderland wouldn't have been relegated, but it looks like its happening now. Sunderland have a cringeworthy squad anyways.. apart from a few players, they're pretty average.

MON's flopped hard this season. He's hardly got it right. He was rightfully sacked. The question should be more about the timing of letting him go. They can actually get relegated now. Can't really think of any managers out there that are unemployed and good enough to keep 'em up. McDermott maybe?

Sunderland don't have 200m to spend like Villa did.

They should get Poyet from Brighton. Bring Niall's South American traditions to the Black Cats. #blamesuarez

Good decision imo..

Sunderland is in a gamble situation now.

I do feel for Martin though, he was once a good manager but didnt work for him this time.

Di Matteo should be going to a better club than Sunderland imo. He won the CL with Chelsea.

Apparently they are talking to Di Canio.

It's short-term all that matters right now and yeah, Di Canio should kick some life in them.
