Juve need to buy in january

It is clear our all our strikers are average at best.

We need top quality striker we want to win the league this season.

Defence can wait till next summer.

At this point id even take tevez atleast i know he could score 20 + goals a season which none of our strikers can do.

We create so many chances in our matches its ridiculous the amount of draws we have had this season.

No new striker in janaury = milan winning.

The other juve fans might bite my head off for this but use are kidding urselves if anyone thinks our strikers would make it into any other big teams starting 11.

Matri would start for Chelsea and Inter and quite possibly United.

Matri is still our joint-top scorer, he's not average. Way to judge him from 1 game where we were using the wrong formation and he was starved of any supply from his midfielders because Udinese's 5-man midfield controlled the middle of the pitch for long spells of the game.

Yeah, it was probably his worst game in a Juve shirt, but you need to give him more time before branding him "average"?

Wasn't he an "amazing striker" a couple of weeks ago? Yeah, give him some more time.


And I think it doesn't need explaining that Quagliarella isn't average either.

Trust me ive never called matti amazing even when he was scoring, im sorty but none of our strikers are juve quality.

Quags is good yes but hes not gonna score 20 + goals.

Michael1 has a point about our strikers - not that they arent good enough but the fact is, our joint 1st and 3rd top scorers are Marchisio and Pepe...

Vucinic hasnt done a whole lot. And you would think if someone with Pepes limited technical ability (Although he is a MASTER or work ethic) can score goals, a true forward would do much better.

Hard to judge Quag and hes only JUST started playing so give him some time.
Matri has just had a few bad games, and before that, he has done quite well.
A world class forward would be welcome for Juve, but with limited fnds its difficult.
If Montolivo can be secured for 3m and Caceras for 2m (+6 at end of season) then I think the rest of the funds should be directed for a class striker (and for gods sakes, NOT boriello ) - possibly for a Loan + Buy at end of season

I agree matri is too inconsistent if juve want to be a top club again they needs new striker. Easily the worst player onThe pitch in juves last game.

Well to be honest out rumoured targets last summer wouldve been perfect for us, either rossi or aguero.

Aguero is not an option anymore

So that leaves rossi but now with his injury hes pointless as well.

Tevez would work but his attitude has gone down the crapper.

If wr could snag torres for 20 mill from chelsea i think he would do well with us and hopefully find his confidence.

Berbatov is not really a 20 goal striker IMO.

Drogba.. You could try him. He could be the finisher you guys need.

Berbatov scored 20 goals last season. The main problem with Berbatov is that he can be lazy, which in Contes system will not work.

Drogba still has some juice left in the tank and is ruthless in front of goal.

However, both these names are dreams rather than reality...

Leandro Damaio would be awesome... also a dream I think..

tevez does seem realistic if juve can offer the money since its likely that they are going to play cl football next season.. only problem is conte has to be good enough to manage his huge ego and post puberty issues

torres would be a mistake imo, quite a big risk considering you cant lose any points in the serie a race trying to give torres a chance to prove his form..

Matri is good enough though....just in poor form.

We've already seen what he's capable of when he's in form. So yeah he's their best attacker by some distance and is by no means average.

Quags can't be rated as he hasn't played, Vucinic has been rather poor, but also injury-prone from what I've seen. Iaquinta and Toni are both past it though.

Boriello could actually be decent for them though. People are quick to forget that he scored 15 goals last season. He hasn't done much wrong this season other than not being fancied by LE.

The attack we have would suffice in serie a but not cl standard imo.

I think we need to make a big name striker signing in the Summer but definitely not in January.

Buying a full-back must be the priority.And looks like that is all but done.

Think we wont be doing that much of business in January and i dont read much into those TuttoJuve rumors.

i think matri is going to be WC in the future i really like him his physique imo is perfect for both speed and power he just needs more fine tuning and juve really have no good strikers aside from del piero for him to learn from and they contrast in style of play.

Bhends has point.We need top striker some1 like Trezegol and ADP in the past.Even Iaquinta was good enough in his peak.So Matri is good but he is not Trezeguet type.We need some1 like him.Remember that trezeguet may be gost all game and then suddenly there he goes with a goal.Matri isnt that kind of player.His peak must be now in this yrs and maybe he has reached his peak maybe this is all from him.Even in top form he isnt the needed striker for scudetto and cl league.We need Benzema type of player

To be fair to Matri, this season he has been doing very well overlooking the Udinese game. He single-handedly saved our asses against Siena, Genoa, and Fiorentina, and he had some other notable performances vs Napoli and Lazio. Not to mention that he's the 3rd best forward in Serie A in terms of assists.

I know that he isn't world-class and all, and I don't see him spearheading a CL-winning team, but to call him average is ridicuolous imo.

But good points have been made in this thread, we need to go for a world-class striker this summer.
