Who do you think was the best central midfielder of 2011?
Goallegacy's best Central Midfielder of 2011
A place where, unfortunately, I dont expect there will be much competition. But anyway. This is our XI so far:
Neuer
Alves-Silva-Vidic-Marcelo
Busquets
Whoever wins the CM vote will take up a place in the double pivot with Busquets, and if the runner up manages to get more than 20% of the vote, which is what both Scweinsteiger and Alonso got in the DM one, he will get on the bench. Otherwise, I dont know how I will choose (the same thing happened in CB with Hummels and Kompany with the same votes). These are the CMs you can vote for:
Ever Banega- Argentina and Valencia
Xavi Hernandez- Spain and Barcelona
Scott Parker- England and West Ham/Tottenham
Andrea Pirlo- Italy and Milan/Juventus
Nuri Sahin- Turkey and Borussia Dortmund/Real Madrid
Yaya Toure- Ivory Coast and Manchester City
... and before some of you explode into a torrent of abuse, make sure you check out this post to see why you should shut up: https://goallegacy.forumotion.com/t13053p36-the-official-goallegacy-best-xi-thread#389069
PS: Re Parker, I know he is sometimes called a DM, but hell just to include another guy from the EPL. We all know who will win anyway.

Was Xavi really the best CM 2011? Honestly I tought it was a dissapointing season for his usual standards... He did still perform in the big games though.

i agree that he was below his standard in the past season(only in the past season because he is fantastic atm),but even so he managed to outperform all other cmsomarish wrote:Was Xavi really the best CM 2011? I also find it funny when commentators call him that.

Especially as this formation is 4-2-3-1.
DAMN, Modric. I knew I had to write him down, but forgot. Sorry everyone, but it wouldnt have made a difference anyway.
Vidal was in the DM poll, and Weelchair was doing great till he got injured. More of an AM anyway.

Xavi's going to win, but I voted for Pirlo, just cause he's Pirlo.

Parker should of been in the DM thread, (and Leiva should of been there too!) Modric should of been available for this one. |:

Not a real poll without Modric
I'm serious. I won't even vote. This is an outrage.
No Modric...no modric...
I feel like you're trolling me tbh
EDIT:
I forgive you. He would have had several votes though no kidding

Not a City fan, but I feel that Yaya (If you can even call him a CM) had an amazing season...

Re: Goallegacy's best Central Midfielder of 2011
Xavi is still the best creative midfielder in the world.
No doubt best central mf of 2011.
Except that he has better defensive cover at Juve than he had with the Grandpas he used to play alongside at Milan.
Funny how Pirlo was almost considered redundant before the start of the season.
Look.Pirlo has been one of more important players this season but it is just not down to him.He is playing alongside two borderline world class mf's and thats allowing him to operate in his comfort zone due to their excellent defensive and pressing capabilities.
No doubt best central mf of 2011.

u have no credibility with that qoute...marchiseo and vidal aren't WC...u putting down pirlo when their are players that do different roles in each team and allow others to operate...which player is the one that is actually breaking out this season for juve and as you say operating in his comfort zone because pirlo has been in his comfort zone for 10 years at milan before he moved on...without pirlo juve wouldn't be half as confident because thats the mentality he brings to any team he plays for...
