Re: Should Callejon replace Villa?
its not like he would start, but he deserves a spot on the euro squad and i think this is the debate not whether he will be a game changer for spain or if hes a better finisher than ronaldo.
imo he deserves the euro spot for how well he has been playing either him or soldado.

Re: Should Callejon replace Villa?
Mata was already rated as a good player at Valencia, just like Silva was. Callejon was definitely not rated as highly as them while at his old club. Not on these forums anyways.ragbirjosh wrote:lszanto wrote:St_Nick09_of_Goal wrote:lszanto wrote:St_Nick09_of_Goal wrote:lszanto wrote:Decent player joins Madrid = is now WC player
did you see someone calling him WC? DONT MAKE STUFF UP, very tasteless
May not have said it directly but the amount of hype and praise the madrid fans are giving this guy it seems many madrid fans think so.
so you are assuming? stop right there.
since when praisin someone=thinking he is WC?
No it's the arrogance in that i've never heard anybody give him praise or say he's class, or anything even remotely close to getting a callup. Next thing he moves to madrid and deserves every praise under the sun?
Mata?

Re: Should Callejon replace Villa?
What about...
He's not doing too badly for himself these days...
I'd love to see him called up for just one more game...
Oh, and he's better than Torres too...

When will people learn formation =/=tactics ?
Has fabregas played a false 9 role alone ever ? All he did was taking advantage of defenders giving too much attention to Messi in a 343.What attributes he possesses to play a false 9?
Mata,fabregas,Silva..where are the goal scorers? Even with 2 goal scorers spain barely scored more than 1 goal each game.
Mata and silva both will drop deep and fabregas too then whats the point of taking possession if You have none upfront?

Re: Should Callejon replace Villa?
okay
so Callejon has played 14 games, 8 starts, 8 goals
thats pretty good
since Villa is injured, Soldado would obviously be his natural replacement
but i see Soldado as a replacement for the out of form and utterly useless Fernando Torres
Callejon though should be called up for friendlies first and see how his progression continues with Madrid, so far so good, not great though yet....
his running, pressuring is great to watch
but what many peopl say is that he scores pretty easy goals, but you have to notice how he runs the defences he plays against, like the goal against Sevilla, he wasnt just sticking to a single position, on the right, he was moving from side to side looking for a gap in the defence.....
but in the end, I am one for giving those who perform for their club a chance to represent their country, this is not a club, and i believe that the best players of the country should be called up, Callejon has not yet proven this.... I was livid with VDB for calling up Montoya, it sent the wrong message, that Spain's NT is becoming Barca FC(without Messi), which is what plagued the Spain NT when Raul, Hierro, Guti and co were there...
Maybe a friendly call up should be a start but it depends on Mou and the player himself to earn a place in the Spain NT

Re: Should Callejon replace Villa?
This might seem contradictory to the general thinking of my fellow Madrid fans but do people really think he should be Villa's replacement as he doesn't have Villa's quality nor finishing capabilities.
If he continues his nice form, why not, give his ass a ticket to that jet plane to Euros and drop Jesus Navas, lord knows he hasn't done a single thing worth keeping. But to replace Villa on the left, I don't know gents, that is a rather tall order...

The way this team will dominate midfield & the amount of chances they will create, i don't think they will have any problems scoring goals..

See WC 2010.
Villa had to pull magic out of his hat for Spain to score goals.

Re: Should Callejon replace Villa?
That team has no cutting edge at all Khaled. They'll keep possession a like a boss but who is gonna be that dagger with a jagged edge? It is unbalance honestly. Simply too much midfielders.
