That is all I'm trying to say, it isn't only Pepe who is wasteful btw but he is the only one being praised as this magnificent figure and that is why criticism of those arguments is fitting.
Del Piero was wasteful, so was Giaccherini for example.

Just like to point out that the reason Pepe is praised so much is because of the hate he receives here. He may not be the best player but he certainly is one of the hardest working one. He has been scoring and creating chances consistently as well as helping out the defense. He might not bury the majority of his chances but neither do our other forwards if you really look at it. This Juve needs to be more clinical in front of goal or sign someone who will be. Dissapointed with Del Piero this game he had some of the best chances. He even laughed at himself after the amazing opportunity he had (granted I do think Pepe passed a little late).
The problem is Pepe is not given the credit he is do. He has been consistent and yet people still ask for Krasic who has done what exactly? We should all just be happy with our team and that we are in first instead of these constant player x > player y. We are in first for a reason.

Just the opposite actually (in my opinion, although I do think it works both ways)
Again, I fail to see how Krasic is relevant to Pepe being extremely wasteful against Novara

Opposite? After every game all I see here are comments like "*bleep* Pepe we need Krasic" continuously. The man deserves the credit he has earned. This is in regards to what you said before. Pepe is praised the way he is because his improvement is not recognized yet people here still think Krasic deserves the start when he has done 0 so far this season. Pepe may be wasteful but he creates plenty of chances throughout the game. No team can score on every opportunity. But at least we have been winning because of his effort. How is Krasic relevant? He is brought up week after week and has been praised like we owe him something when the fact remains he has done NOTHING this year. Our success this year has been due to the consistent form of players like Giach and Pepe if anything. No matter how wasteful they have been they play for the shirt and have done a great job thus far. Yet they deserve to be benched? This is why you get this Pepe praise. I honestly didn't like him. Thought he was shit. But so far this season he has proved me wrong and everyone else who keeps calling Krasics name.

Sorry, I was speaking on behalf of myself
The only reason I bring up Pepe being wasteful is because you guys act like he performs without blemish and then immediately jump to the defensive

I did not bring up Krasic one time when arguing Pepe's wastefulness because it makes absolutely no sense to my own argument.

I cannot speak for what others say/argue here.

See thats the thing. People jump at him when he is wasteful but for some reason decide not to see what he actually does besides his wasteful moments. If Pepe misses one pass this board is up in arms and calls for his head. But if a player like Krasic was to score an own goal it doesn't matter. This ongoing Pepe saga is only because people are blinded by names rather then positive results. Couple of missed passes and Pepe is utter shit. Doesn't matter that he creates chances and opens up play constantly on top of his defensive effort. If he does a single thing "wrong" then he needs to be benched. It's ridiculous really :shisha:

Again, you may be speaking to others in this case but I only comment on what is seen, Pepe's effort but also Pepe's wastefulness. The rest, about Krasic, about Pepe being benched is purely speculation and assumptions.

Ok so Pepe is wasteful. What do you propose we do about that? All I have read in this thread is hate on Pepe when the funny part is our best chances come from him...despite his wastefulness and what not.

I didn't propose any changes I simply stated that despite his good performance he was really wasteful, which a lot of people had trouble even acknowledging and immediately jumped to the defensive like I was insulting their mothers....

Because he may have been wasteful but in reality Juve's forwards have been wasteful for a while now yet Pepe is the scapegoat week in week out. I see comments like he is awfhul, shit, whatever you wanna say about him yes he is wasteful just like every other forward we have playing atm but he is the only one to be singled out all the time its quite annoying. And we both know where the convos lead to from there. People need to understand that although he may be wasteful he contributes a lot in other areas on top of the constant chances he creates. We can't score them all folks. No team can.

To put it in clearer words....By reading comments here you get the feeling people watch Pepe specifically during the game and criticize everything he does.

I could say the same thing about people kneejerking him though
If anyone said Del Piero or Giaccherini had stand up games yesterday I would have said the same thing

26 shots, 12 on goal, 2 goals- its not very good...

And I acknowledge he contributes a lot but he *bleep* up plenty, which, again, a lot of people have trouble even acknowledging.

And by reading comments here I get the feeling people specifically praise Pepe without acknowledging any flaws and that is rather annoying.

When critiquing a player you should at least attempt to list some areas of improvement at the very least

Theres a difference between critiquing and just continuously bashing a player. If pepe looked at someone wrong there would be people complaining. The only reason he is being critiqued is because he is constantly compared to someone else. He is not the first/only player to trip on himself for example. It happens. We all know the kind of player Pepe is already. He is a solid two way player not an offensive monster. Yet I feel like people expect him to score every chance he gets. My point being everyone was wasteful not only Pepe. Quag, DP, Matri (has been) yet its only Pepe who is continuously brought up.

Pepe is praised on this forum more than all those players combined as well.
I guess we'll agree to disagree, and he is continuously critiqued for being wasteful because he almost always is.

Every players is wasteful to a degree but you cannot honestly sit there and tell me you don't even get a little frustrated when Pepe trips over his own feet or fails to deliver a ball in? If being honest is a crime then I am guilty, although I acknowledge Pepe's effort constantly- I guess it just isn't enough.

Pepe is shat, I do not see which other way possible to describe it, that is just how I feel, and until I see us holding the CL trophy with Pepe playing a major role in it [which does not sound anyway possible]

his "avant garde" performances will never fool me...

p.s: am happy with where we are currently, putting that across before the beowolfs come for my head, which they will anyway....

He is wasteful and that frustrates me sometimes, I can give you that kwame.

But he has 5 goals to his name - just 1 short of Marchisio and Matri -, so I can't really criticize him in any other way.

That being said, I still have a little faith left in Krasic, so I'm all for giving him 4 or 5 more chances to at least show some of last year's form. I say this because I'm finding it difficult to see how a player can fall from so talented to so bad so quickly.

Anyway, yes I'm good, just fighting off a cold I have since last Friday 🎅 Weather's been really cold around here, 17/18 degrees and such, but that's nothing compared to you guys in the US huh? It's probably 2-3 degrees and knee-deep snow over there right? Razz

but we must understand this guy came from playing half a season in Russia to playing a full consistent season, might be bogged down to tiredness or something, same guy that raped Man Untd.

[haven't seen Pepe rape any team of note yet in this life]

if Conte doesn't give him these games against the likes of Novara and co, how will he discover his form? unfortunately Krasic has only played what, like 4 games fully, and Pepe how many?

from how I see it, Pepe has had like 4 great games and no one talks about it, but are quick to spleen to Krasic's 45 mins......

p.s: you are right about the weather, its a snow-fest out here, would kill to have me some of your hot weather bounce

p.s: get well soon from the cold....

I actually agree with Elm here, in reference to the champions league.
Do you think Juventus can afford wastefulness from the likes of Pepe, Giacch and even Matri (to a degree) in a two leg knockout scenario? I don't, this Juventus is not clinical at all

his "avant garde" performances will never fool me...

p.s: am happy with where we are currently, putting that across before the beowolfs come for my head, which they will anyway....

If the red part is true then you are obviously blindly and purposefully hating the guy.

I explained my purposes for hating him very well....

so what....

what you just said shows me it is blind hatred, and that even if he single handedly carries Juve to the scudetto you will still hate him. Blind hatred for the guy who gives his most to the team. Pathetic, really.

I cannot believe you talk about blind hatred, blind hatred for Krasic who along with Quags single-handedly carried us with their good performances last season is a gourmet dish here these days....

anyway I don't hate on Pepe, I just cannot be fooled by his performances since I know who the the true Pepe is and I still see the signs of himself....

Nobody is denying that Pepe is clumsy and wasteful. is that the "Signs of himself."

And please, who on this forum hates Krasic or Quag? example? name? anything?

the signs of himself are numerous but yes you've listed some and they are still existent......

from my pt. of view [which maybe doesn't include you] its a Pepe festival every game and a Krasic mothersucker carnival..... after every game....

The only reasons its a pepe festival is because 1)a good amount of ppl constantly criticize him but not others(and also call for Krasic to start over him when Pepe is still producing the results) and 2) because he is scoring goals on top of providing his other services to the team...

I was one of the starters of the Pepe Love, and I started to show support because everyone hated on the guy who gave his upmost every game. disgusting!
