There is appreciation
There is being critical
Then there is blind love and blind hate

I'm sorry but the amount of praise for him from today's game is really undeserved- goal or not.

He missed a lot I agree but not supporting or respecting what he does when he leaves his heart for us on that field is just ....

I appreciate his effort, that is unquestioned but if it was Krasic (for example) doing the same stuff he would be benched asap

cant change your mind with his fool the mind ish performances? Fine, if his goals, assists, effort, work rate and positioning isnt enough....

How about Juventus being in first?

Yeah I need to watch the match, but i understand where youre all coming from.

I know Pepe is wasteful, I know he misses chances, I know he is clumsy and hard to watch. The main point is, until it costs us a game, or even a goal, then his annoying playing style doesnt matter. The results and the stats do.

Doesnt matter how you win, as long as you win...(unless its cheating...)

Also, Conte acknowledged that juve missed many chances in the post interview, so this is something he is going to work on hopefully.

Pepe haters make me laugh because they are so pathetic. Yet they love krasic. When krasic dribbles the ball out, can't defend, gets caught out and can't make a 16 man squad at times

You guys say pepe wastes a lot of chances yet by the sounds of it pepe misses more chances than inter gets chances on an average game. If he's scoring and defending he's doing his job, and obviously he's getting in the right places A LOT to create these chances. Until he stops defending and scoring stfu.

honestly you guys need to allow others to have countering views to yours, stop being so close minded
he didn't trip over his own feet while on a break away?
he did not hesitate and then underhit a cross to Del Piero while on a 2v1?

He makes mistakes, he isn't perfect so please clear these thoughts from your head as soon as possible
All the things you just said I've already acknowledged- he is in right positions but he is EXTREMELY wasteful...

Sorry for quoting you on this one zarola this is not just at you, but you too :coffee:

What Zarola says is completely relevant and legit....He is saying the argument Pepe haters make are irrelevant because as of now, for how many chances he misses or messes up, he makes up for in other aspects of his game, including goals.

Its kinda hard to still argue Pepe should be on the bench over Krasic when Krasic really hasnt done one thing of note this season.

Pepe is made for Conte's system, and the fact that he scores is a bonus because if you asked me in the beginning of the season if I expected Pepe to be a scorer in our team I would have said no. He is performing beyond expectations, yet people hate on the guy who gives the most effort.

Sure people have the right to their own view, but so are the people like me who think that his positives seriously outweigh his negatives at the moment, especially when you add the fact that Krasic has yet to put in a good performance.

Any argument you could make for Pepe being benched should be also applied to Del Piero today, yet nobody hates on him...

That is all I'm trying to say, it isn't only Pepe who is wasteful btw but he is the only one being praised as this magnificent figure and that is why criticism of those arguments is fitting.
Del Piero was wasteful, so was Giaccherini for example.

26 shots, 12 on goal- 2 goals (these stats are off the top of my head so feel free to double check)

Pasquale, no one is going on and on about how Del Piero had an amazing performance so I do not understand the relevance, both can still be wasteful, it was not just Pepe who was wasteful...
Its an awful argument really, you cannot counter Pepe being wasteful with another player being wasteful- they can both be wasteful.

Fab, No one is praising Del Piero either
and I didn't see anyone bring up Krasic until Pasquale insinuated (incorrectly) that, that is the reason that Pepe is being criticized.

We are praising Pepe because he got a goal....

We are praising him because yet again he was a key factor in us winning....

I believe in more than what goes onto the score sheet
So, if he doesn't score in the next game you'll hate him? It is just too flawed, I do not pick and choose the players I like on a weekly basis.

I was happy Pepe scored and happy that he was always in such fantastic positions but he was also frustrating, (NOT JUST HIM) but he wasted a lot of good opportunities.

No I will not hate him, I am not that extreme.

I know next game he will give his all, pressure the ball, position, etc like always. If he gets a goal or a good cross as well, then I will give him extra praise Thumbs up

Just like to point out that the reason Pepe is praised so much is because of the hate he receives here. He may not be the best player but he certainly is one of the hardest working one. He has been scoring and creating chances consistently as well as helping out the defense. He might not bury the majority of his chances but neither do our other forwards if you really look at it. This Juve needs to be more clinical in front of goal or sign someone who will be. Dissapointed with Del Piero this game he had some of the best chances. He even laughed at himself after the amazing opportunity he had (granted I do think Pepe passed a little late).
The problem is Pepe is not given the credit he is do. He has been consistent and yet people still ask for Krasic who has done what exactly? We should all just be happy with our team and that we are in first instead of these constant player x > player y. We are in first for a reason.

Krasic played shit game against Bologna in CUP and pepe haters were praying Krasic for playing good.I love him but he CANT SHOOT and he CANT DRIBBLE . Pepe CAN do that .Thats the big difference. pepe CAN defend krasic CANT .Thats all.Elia came in 80 min vs Roma when the defenders were tired and he cross then and sudenlly he is beast.haha stop *bleep* kidding me .He needs to prove his worth and talent. He has obviosly but he isnt type of player that will do good for us.Write what you want but with Giach Pepe we are unbeaten and that is all matters Smile
