Are you sure about the time?? CL games are usually 20.45 CET.. That would be 21.45 BST..

I think its going to be a high scoring game, my prediction has changed and I am going with a 3-3 or 3-2 Arsenal win.

Re: Olympiakos v Arsenal LIVE
Why are we playing our best defender in a meaningless game against a team with an injury crisis?

So too with Djourou.. Looks like its going to be Kos-Per-Verm-Santos against Everton then..
I would've preferred Miquel starting on LB tbh..
Wenger better make the right substitutions at the hour mark to rest the key men starting today.. And for that to happen, we better put this game to bed early and not let them worry us too much..

I don't even know why any of our main guys traveled with the team, we have a big game in the weekend.

Re: Olympiakos v Arsenal LIVE
the only reason i can come up with is that
Santos is still not fully fit....before he never really had a pre season
and Verm recently came back and needs the game to fully fit and back to 100%
and Djouoru doesn't need a rest, he needs to be getting as many games as possible....he was good last season when we was constantly in the team....

Sounds as good a justification as any..
Also, if I may add, Wenger said he would use a strong defense. This, with Frimpong and Coquelin playing ahead, is pretty strong defensively. As we are playing Squillacci, the only way to keep this defense strong was to stick Vermaelen in with him. Otherwise, we would lose no doubt and maybe Wenger realized that.
It is important for us to win for a variety of reasons, even though this match is inconsequential. And we aren't going to win with a leaky defense.
Wenger knows best. I trust him.

Re: Olympiakos v Arsenal LIVE
Well, I'm not bothered that Vermaelen and Santos are both playing. It's good to have some experience and quality in that backline, because playing in Greece against Olympiacos is no cake walk. This is different to a Carling Cup game at home.

Plus we are potentially helping marseille here which IMO is wrong. lets give it our best shot
I am 100% behind Chamakh today. Hope he scores

Sensible lineup v Olympiakos. Vermaelen and Santos add continuity, and should help youngsters in hostile circumstances.

Re: Olympiakos v Arsenal LIVE
we just saw exactly why Arshavin isn't needed at Arsenal. Forget the one-on-one; he lost the ball on the half way line; didn't bother the chase back and that essentially proved our undoing.
