I wouldnt mind Benitez, he knows defense, and PSG is in need of some discipline. A top manager is most welcome.

Except that half of those players were sold for profit, Aquilani is killing it in Milan now, and there are 4-5 free transfers there too .....Also, Bellamy's name there

killing it at milan ? how come he never killed it at liverpool ? and if he was that succesful with his transfers how come he never won the league

A net spending of £78,340,000 over 6 years, ain't very mutch. Certainly not "all the money he wanted".

dont let net spending decieve you coz it accounts for all the flops he sold after 1 or 2 seasons. rafa spent £229m on 76 players in 6 years so thats like a fresh line up every season.

I heard Beckham is in talks as well, Joe cole and now him in Ligue 1.

It will be nice to see a powerhouse in a different league. EPL, Seria A, La Liga and Bundesliga is getting boring plus it's only 4 leagues out of many.

Benitez would be a great choice for PSG as coach.

But if they sack Kombouare, they will go into crisis mode.

If they add Beckham, it would add another new players. They don't know each other and don't play as a team.

I've said it since game 1 and i'll say it again: PSG are crap in the midfield. Matuidi was saving them for a while and keeping things decent in the middle. But since he got hurt, it's been an utter disaster. Momo is slowly getting better. Bodmer and Chantome are terrible imo.

Bekham can only help tbh. But PSG need to find a good CM. Fullbacks are a bit crap too.

But back on subject... i think Kombouare had a raw deal to begin with and he handled it admirably. Much respect to the man. But at this point, PSG needs a change. You can't wonder who the manager is going to be after every game. It completely undermines the current manager. Time to move on and Benitez is a fine choice. Would prefer Carlo. But i don't think he wants to manage in France.

That with Pastore as the only creative outlet that PSG would struggle......

Obviously a step up in coaching department for PSG and they have money to spend but funds never been a problem for Benitez.

'Time is more valuable than money'

Rafa would do well with them IMO. Only barrier would be the language I guess, I'm not sure if he speaks French.

It's understandable that some of his buys turned out to be flops, especially when the average price was £3m.
What you have to remember is that most of them were very cheap and sold on for a similiar price. That's how he was able to continue making these kind of buys. He didn't have the budget buy WC players, therefore he had to gamble on a lot of unproven players, if they broke through it was good, if not he sold them.
The net spending therefore gives a much better description of the transfers than the gross spending.
