So, as a beginning to our World Best XI that is so much better than the FIFA one, we must vote for the Goalkeepers, custodians of the net. The one with most votes after three days will win the place in the lineup, and the second best will sit on the bench. So, have your say on who was the best goalkeeper of 2011!

In alphabetical order:

Gianluigi Buffon- Italy and Juventus
Iker Casillas- Spain and Real Madrid
Manuel Neuer- Germany and Schalke/Bayern Munich
Victor Valdes- Spain and Barcelona
Edwin Van der Sar- Netherlands and Man United (retired)

Note: Seeing as there aren't many different real competitors for the first and second best goalkeepers, I didn't include too many options and based it on the FIFA one with a bit changed to match the opinion on our forum.

As I said mate, based on the FIFA list. I think actually it is the exact one. Not that I dont think Cech was better (in fact Reina might have a shot too) but none of them will probably compete for top spot which will be between the first three most likely.

I voted for Casillas becouse contrary to the "popular" belief here he didn't have a bad season last season.

Won us a CdR all by himself almost and was excellent in semis or was just excellent whenever it mattered.
