Pedro all the way. He always plays well against Madrid and even if he's not scoring we need his directness and pace plus his hounding Madrid when we lose the ball.

Alexis I believe will be very good for us but I don't think he has any clue what he's stepping into and we just can't afford to have him getting used to the atmosphere and speed of the game for the first 30 minutes as we are in big trouble if Madrid scores first. I know he played in the Supercopa but this is different.

Barca and Spain have been missing an in form Pedro and IMO he's one of the best wingers in the world and quite frankly I'm tired of Pep trying to replace him.

Dont you think that Alexis would be better considering his and Pedros form? And its not like Alexis is missing pace or directness. And imho Alexis is at least as good as Pedro tracking back and pressing to win the ball. The only thing Pedro is better on is finishing, which we havent seen that much of... And Pedro has not played good always vs Madrid. Maybe its just me having a bad memory, but in the CL away game vs Madrid he didnt do single sh!et, then Afellay came in and changed the whole game.

How do you mean by different between the Supercopa and the league clasico? I mean, he played a match against them and did really, really good and was also raping Marcelo. In fact, I think we need more of his dribbling skills than Pedro to create space.

Oh well, we'll see what Pep decides. I just hope he isnt stupid enough to play Keita from start LOL.

The Supercopa was kind of a meaningless game and most of our team was out of shape and coming back from vacations or national team duties etc. Don't get me wrong, both teams wanted to win and the games were great but it's just not the same as the away league fixture at Madrid which is our hardest game every year.

I think if you asked Pep or Mou they would tell you wining the Supercopa is great but the league is the most important especially when losing this game would almost wrap La Liga up for Madrid and at the very least would put an insane amount of pressure on Barca and they would need to win every game in La Liga going forward and then still they may not catch up.

Also, I don't think Madrid will play as open as they did and this will be a physical war with Madrid looking for a tie/win but will not gift Barca anything and be way more defensive.

As for Sanchez tracking back and pressing the ball as well as Pedro, just no. I mean no offense but it's not even close and it shouldn't be as Alexis has been in this system for months compared to Pedro being in it for years. IMO, Pedro is the best on our team at pressing and wining the ball back and may be one of the best in the world at this. Plus if you read my other post Pedro stays out on the wing where Sanchez likes to cut in and it clogs things up.

As for there form, Pedro has been injured and Sanchez hasn't been a world beater either. He was great last game, but before that he wasn't playing great or anything but was effective. When Pedro's in the game it just makes Barca a different team it's hard to explain but they are more energetic and direct and he's a great outlet on the wing and he has a knack for getting on the end of deflections.

And lastly, I think your memory is off a little as Pedro plays great against Madrid and in big games. I'm not going to pull up statrs but he's scored a bunch of times against Madrid.

Also, as for Pedro's performances against Madrid, in the last 4 true Clasico's (La Liga reg season) Pedro has scored in 2 of them not to mention one of the goals was in his first ever Clasico.

Out of the 2 Champions League games last year Pedro scored in 1 of them which was basically the goal that put Barca through to the finals, not to mention he scored in the finals of the Champions league.

As for the Supercopa this year he didn't start the first game and I don't think he played much at all and was subbed out in the second around halftime I believe

I'm almost 100% positive he's had an assist or two in these games as well but I'm too lazy to look it up.

For a winger and not a CF these are great numbers especially for a young player. He just always seems to play well against Madrid for some reason.

I fear that Madrid may receive a monumental thrashing. Everyone is hyping how good this Madrid team has become, they might become complacent and start buying into their own hype.

Furthermore, Barca is just starting to pick up their great form in the beginning of December, just like every season in recent memory.

It's because he takes his chances.

Pedro is a player I really admire....as a winger...his finesse finsihing is World Class Imo.Also, some people choose to selectively overlook the fact that he is a very decent dribbler and overall hardwroking player, and act like if all he does is finish. For me he and Sanchez + Messi wold provide a near perfect balance for the front line.

This match is going to be mouth watering. As a football fan I literally can't be more excited. This is the 1st time that both Madrid and Barcelona have been at the peak(ish) of their powere at the same time since the 60s, and even then Herrera's Barcelona dominated the domestic scene but Di Stefano's RM beat them in Europe. These two are far wand away the best two team in EUrope atm and they both have completely differnt philosophies. Can't wait. I know there would be non of that diving stuff of the 4 classico fest.
