Re: Where is the outrage?
harhar11 wrote:Why should there be an outrage when real madrid got fined because they did it in the CL while Pique in La Liga. Real Madrid have done that the exact same thing in la liga without getting any suspension..
deliberate yellows to play important matches have been around forever, but really only got large recognition last year when madrid got fined.
la liga and cl are 2 separate entities, uefa decided to fine madrid..
now that this type of event has gained a lot of notoriety, lfp might want to make an example out of barca like uefa did to madrid.

Re: Where is the outrage?
In the CL match case it was obvious that Mou gave instructions to Alonso and RAmos to do it, while in this case Pep did no such thing.

in murinho case you could actually see them conspiring.
and think that could be the difference.
on talks about making it obvious, at least iker had just been fouled when ramos took it, here you see both wasting time on teh same goal kick
couldnt find a longer video, but pep shouted busquets name and told him to get a yellow and then at the end of this video you see him clapping at them

Refdrid's Xabi Alonso's deliberate and pointless fifth foul against "Real" Madrid on saturday:
Expect both get suspensions, or none. Else it's just more power to the conspiracy theories which has plagued La Liga this season.

Re: Where is the outrage?
Can someone explain to me why a 2 game ban is being considered?
When ever this has happened in the past the player has always been given a 1 game ban......
Whether it be Terry last week, Alonso and Ramos last year or Eto'o and Deco back in the day etc etc
It's always been a 1 game ban not 2.....
Not getting it myself.

Article 112 of the Disciplinary Code reads: "Any player, who during the course of a game, provokes a fifth booking may be sanctioned with, in addition to the penalty provided for in the first paragraph of this article [a standard one-game ban], an extra one game suspension and fined the amount of €600. In determining the intent of the player, circumstances will be taken into account such as the nature of the breaching of the game rules and the attitude of the player during the match."
It's a part of La Liga rules apparently.

Re: Where is the outrage?
Mole they edited the rules this year. So that now if it is proven they will recieve 2 instead of one. In La Liga that is.

Re: Where is the outrage?
Mole, 1 game suspension the normal for a fifth yellow
then you add one more for the deliberate yellow
1+1=2
then you add one more for the deliberate yellow
1+1=2

Re: Where is the outrage?
How is alonso getting yellow for a tackle when match was 1-1 even remotely close to pique getting yelow for "TIME WASTING" ooff caps, when barca were up 4-0 in 83rd minute?
If anything pique is stupid to force card like that,he should have followed what iniesta did last year in CL that is stay infront of a opposition freekick and never move even if referee asked you to do so...

Re: Where is the outrage?
One happened during a derby when the score was 1-1 in the 39th minute (or 38th). The other happened around the 83rd minute when the score was 4-0 to Barcelona's favour. Not that it matters (and it really doesn't) but Pique hasn't done himself any favours with this one and if he is to receive an extra suspension, then he has no one but himself to blame for that.
The Alonso foul was a deliberate foul but because of the circumstances of the foul, it can be easily proven it wasn't an intentional yellow card he wanted. My personal take is that he knew what he was doing. He stopped a counter while getting a yellow ensuring he would be in the Clasico. Use of one's brain is important apparently...
