Refereeing outrage in Spain
Yesterday, Barcelona beat Granada 1-0, but more so than the boring game, it is the referee who is getting the people talking.
He gave 7 yellow cards and 2 red to the newly promoted side, made several other hazardous decisions, and reportedly, treated the Granada players with little respect on the pitch, at least compared to Barcelona.
Diego Mainz, a Granada player, was quoted saying:
Mikel Rico:
At the end of the game, Fabri claimed that the referee refused to shake his hand, and Pina explained that he refused to talk to them at the end of the game. When in the locker, he was told that Muniz -the referee- didnt want to know anything about them.

Diego Mainz, a Granada player, was quoted saying:
He treated us with cockiness and the others, with respect; he was talking to them, but he wouldnt even look at us.
Mikel Rico:
How did we end up the game with two less players, when we didnt even "kick" them.
At the end of the game, Fabri claimed that the referee refused to shake his hand, and Pina explained that he refused to talk to them at the end of the game. When in the locker, he was told that Muniz -the referee- didnt want to know anything about them.

As I said yesterday, the ref was awful for both sides, card-happy, but since Granada tackled more they got the worse end of the stick.

Re: Refereeing outrage in Spain
I have a suggestion for the mods.
Why dont you guys create a separate Bash Barca section?
nick and his fellow band of Stoke fans have nothing better to do it seems.
The Gen Sec would be rid of rubbish and the Stoke fans can spout nonsense all they want in the separate section.

This is about a referee whois calls were questionable. not barca. Now, unless ofc the referee in question is in fact on barca payroll and part of barca, then u have reason to post that we bashing barca. why u say we bashin barca? unless ofc that ref is ur 12th man on the pitch, then it wud make sense.

Re: Refereeing outrage in Spain
I will point out that the reason Barca fans are probably taking exception to this thread is because it was made by a Madrid fan and is being primarily commented on by Madrid fans.
Motives could be assumed to be obvious.
This thread will also get the lock swiftly if things get out of hand.
Tread lightly, fellas.

Referee was terrible yesterday, easy to see, glad to hear that the Granada players aren't taking it sitting down.

Re: Refereeing outrage in Spain
The second yellow resulting in a red is a beauty. If the opponent who's behind and losing kicks the ball away in frustration, why does that have to result in a yellow card? It's luuuuuuuuuuulzy. Especially if the losing side is a newly promoted one against the biggest side in the world.

like the ref that refereed our game vs malaga
non-tolerant, but at the same time doesnt stop the flow of the game and doesnt reach for him pocket every second.
i liked him, what was his name again??

Yes, I think he was very good. I know refs mostly from looks, dont really remember their names apart from a few.
