Di Canio predicts Lazio-Juve

Swindon Town manager Paolo Di Canio will be watching Lazio-Juventus, though he’s unimpressed with Edy Reja’s tactics.

He has played for both clubs, though has always declared the fact he supports the Biancocelesti and enjoys a special bond with their fans.

“If Lazio win tonight, then they will almost certainly do it with help from Miroslav Klose,” he told the Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I had some doubts on Klose, but he has been a goldmine. Alessandro Matri is also perfect as a striker for Antonio Conte’s system, as he reminds me a little of Vincenzo Iaquinta.

“Between the two, I’d have preferred to play alongside Klose, as he sacrifices himself more for the team.”

Lazio and Juventus were joint top of the table going into this weekend, now overtaken by Udinese.

“I think Juventus can challenge for the Scudetto, but I doubt Lazio will,” continued Di Canio.

“They seem like a provincial side and play such old-fashioned football. It was a precise decision by the Coach to take that attitude.

“In any case, I do think Lazio can finish in the top seven or eight teams.”

Lazio is better than he is giving credit to them for.
