It makes perfect sense for Coentrao, I admit that if he gets that name it will be so amazingly friggin awesome. But it would never happen. I think his hair is actually quite ridiculous, he should cut it or stop dyeing it or whatever he does.

So I'm thinking, what if Mou really bought him for the left wing? He is perfect for it, can track back, good crosses and good technique. Plus he stays on his position (left). And he is not completly unfamilair with it.

Maybe Mou realised Di Maria is too unconsistent, and we haven't heard Di Maria is gonna get a contract renewal like we promised (according to Di Maria himself). I still believe it's not for CM or LB.

come on, we didnt sign coentrao to replace di maria. we have never seen a full season of coentrao as winger to even try to compare them, di maria pwned him when they were rivals in Benfica. As a winger, Di Maria is still a superior player, and he has no problem with his attitude. HIs consistency will improve, we cant yet tell if coentrao will be any consistent himself, playing as a winger. There is a huge part in the creativity and goalscoring aspect we dont know how he will respond to.

For that public declaration, di maria is going to get his fingers slapped, or he already did, but he is in no threat to leave the club, he merely made a stupid mistake.

Well, I do agree, but I see no other reason to why we bought Coentrao. If you have ever seen me talk about Di Maria you should know how high I rate this guy. I even said he was better than Özil this season (my opinion). But I see no other reason for Coentrao to come unless he is just a versatile backup.

Throughout a single season you have many factors which deem squad players unavailable no? last season we had backups....diarra,gago,garay leon etc etc....however they dont exist to mourinho anymore.

mou wants to play a bit of total football here, try to adapt his defenders like varane,pepe,coentrao into the midfield with midfield options of altintop,sahin,alonso,khedira, granero, ozil

and cr7 that can work anywhere in the attack, hes trying to make a team here that can adapt to any occasion and thus beat any foe. anyone gets injured, there will be a surplus back up. perfect rotation

What's your take on Ceontrao signing Z. I dubbed him "the joker" because he's a do-everything guy it seems for Mou. But he really doesn't seem to have a set position. He was definitely not bought to play RB since he hasn't played a single second there in the preseason there. In fact, he's only played the midfield roles.

I'm scratching my head on this one a bit. He was our most expensive summer signing by far.

Still not sure if I'm for or against Blondie.

If we signed him for his versatility it would make sense, LW/CM/FB, 30 million for three positions so it's sort of like we signed three players for 10 million. He has a great engine as well so that'll come in handy.

If we signed him to be a left back well, then that's 30 million down the drain IMHO. Doesn't hold a candle to Marcelo as a pure footballer IMO. (warning: Bias)

I like his work rate and he seems to want to be here so I can't really ask for more TBH.
