If Barcelona need to learn one thing from Madrid it is scouting south America. I mean Barça signed Henrique and Keirrison around the same time Madrid signed Higuaín and Marcelo. Look how these turned out.

Both were hyped to no end, especially Keirrison...I think Barca signed them, knowing they would never get a real chance and be loaned to a lesser European club. The hope was, they dominate in their leagues and someone would swoop in for them...making us a tidy profit.

Obviously didnt work out. But I dont think either were bought with any intention of us using them unless they really were megastars. Didnt know it at the time, but I think that theory makes sense to me considering they were never even given a chance.

I find it hard to believe a club like Barça would resort to making money from selling 'talents'.

It wasnt "resorting to" if my theory is correct...rather, they saw a chance and went for it. Makes some sense.

Hummels has signed new Dortmund deal until 2017. I don't think Barcelona were ever after him, but that is one defender out of some of the fan's wish-list.

T.Silva also looks like he is wanting to say so two of the big names in defense are out of our sights... Who now... Luiz? Please no. Agger maybe?

PS: I think you should have pounced on Gary Cahill last January. For £7 million, he was a bargain. Not only that, you probably would have won against Chelsea too!

Not you again and you crap against Chelsea in semifinals. I would have loved to get Cahill and he would have been a bargain as well as a good defender. Chelsea bought him for a rip and well Cahill admited when he was beening scouted with Barca that he loved the way they played and could easily want a transfer to Spain though Barca weren't really that interested. Alba to sign. Tbh, I rather have him than no one. We are linked with Alaba and Bale. Alaba and Munich have said that the player is going nowhere and even 200m would get him a transfer whilst Bale would be a rip and was too expensive. We have a deal, don't care about how small he is, we need a replacement for Abidal and if he is the only option than I will take him... End of story for me.

no truth at all, galliani is on a cruise with baresi allegri, serginho and other milan people, visiting all the most beautiful places around the Mediterranean sea. and barcelona was the 1st stop. and now there on their way to tunis. i think galliani said it about 8 times in 2 weeks silva is priceless, and hes staying. his agent gave a big interview today and he also confirmed silva is staying. he is happy at Milan and doesnt want to leave.

this is coming from one of his biggest hater's prior to him signing. He would have been great for Barca.

Thiago Silva is apparently on his way to Milan so thats one more CB off the list.
The lack of any talk on the CB front doesnt inspire much confidence although Rossell works quietly so it might actually be a good thing.
I just hope we dont go into next season with the same set of CB's and a couple of promoted ones.
