Yeah, mostly because we were always under the opposition's attacks. He has talent, tall, strong, fast...not sure if he is very clever but he has enough in his head to take the stats with him in a team that has to defend a lot.

However, he grew much better than Jones, even if Jones was considered a better prospect a few years ago.

Hopefully, the entire team will play better, develop the new identity that I've already talked about in another threads, so Smalling can become world class. Until then, he still has to deal with the situation of being in a club that doesn't have good results.
