after the many comments that we made concerning Song's positional sense as the DM,whats the take on him so far this season?

That he's been our 2nd or 3rd best player this season.

i am interested in wht u guys think of his positioning.....overall he has been good,technically gifted DM

He's drifted at times and made some bright passes with poor execution, but you have to love his defensive efforts. More often than not, they save us.

Good positionally and in recovery a little sloppy in possession at times and in the absence of Cesc has to be taking on to much of an attacking role to break opposition defence.

Overall has been excellent thus far this season...

hes good, but our mid field shouldnt have to rely on him for creativity because its not his natural role ( by that i mean he's much better at defending than attacking, nd if were short in our attack we shud buy or convert a offensive player not a defensive 1)

It's not really a positioning problem he has, but a bad habit of not getting back into position quick enough when he does go forward and picking the wrong times to join the attack. Quite often he tackles from the wrong side and gives away cynical fouls because an opposition player has left him behind.

Song excels playing a purely defenisve role. You'd see far less errors from him if he didn't go forward and try influence play.

He's been very good so far this season. I think he's becoming more consistent in his performances since Coquelin and Frimpong and breathing down his neck now instead of Denilson.

Decent midfielder but not Arsenal class....Coquelin and Frimpong will be better than him in a few years.

If he keeps playing like that, he'll become a world class defensive midfielder.

He's the next essien.

I like the how he shields the ball and dribble.....if only he had that thing for long balls,and he will turn into decent deep lying distributor

He's been great and has even pulled off some amazing passes due to our lack of creativity and chemistry.

Needs to stick to being a pure DM and he will get the recognition he deserves.

if he could get the long passes down and learn a couple skills to compliment his ball covering he'd be the bomb digidy shit, is tackling is on point and leaves nothing to be desired. if he could learn the young trick or two or practice close control to make his bombing forward more effective he'd could be one of the best in the world. ( i say this because he'd lose the ball less and therefore his bombing forward wouldnt be a problem but when he loses the ball with his dribbling it exposes the team) . so either he shouldn bomb forawrd at all or he should the how to do it effectively, but to say he shouldnt do it at all would be a waste of his evident talent at it.. k im done with my essay

Let's hope he doesn't learn any cool tricks and passing otherwise he'll have absolutely no reason to drop back and defend.

true story, it was a good idea in my mind, maybe not so practical for the team tho

haha no it's a good idea because he's naturally inclined to help the offense, if he can drop back and do both? All is well.
