Villas-Boas determined to keep Kalou, Anelka, Drogba and Bosingwa
"Even if it reaches a situation that they haven’t signed contracts by January, their personality and what they have been doing for this club allows this club to think their loyalty to the team will not be compromised. We won’t need to sell them. It happens all the time. That’s why the talks are on-going. We still have plenty of time."

Re: Villas-Boas determined to keep Kalou, Anelka, Drogba and Bosingwa
I know people don't want certain players to stay but when you look at these four they have a lot of experience and experience is needed when you are undergoing transitions.
Drogba and Bosingwa will be needed anyways because we can't rely on Lukaku and Bosingwa will always be a good option of RB, even though he might not be the best defensively.
The only ones I'm sure about are Anelka and Kalou but if Villas-Boas says so and the club doesn't need to save money by selling them...

one of drogba and anelka (preferably drogba) must stay, id have no issues with anelka leaving on a free tbh
bossingwa is a 50/50 if he keeps playing well and his wages are good then no reason to force him out as long as hes willing to be rotated with some like betrand
but as for kalou......well kakutas loan expires in jan and if we sell him for 10mil+ i think we do alright out of it

Re: Villas-Boas determined to keep Kalou, Anelka, Drogba and Bosingwa
Drogba and Bosingwa should be renewed first, both are still vital players for us.
Anelka is leaving IMO, he has said it time and time again, AVB has said it too, I fully expect him to go but won't mind if he stays.
kalou should go, I don't mind him being 5th choice winger but I would rather he leaves and we hire an ant as our fifth choice winger.

I rather they all left and Kalou gets a 5 year extension.

Anelka and Kalou out, bring Doumbia in.
Sell Bos if we can get a decent replacement, if not Ivan at RB is no issue imo, it's only going to improve our set pieces, the only time Bos is good going forward is when we have somebody rubbish RW like Kalou, I don't think we lose anything playing Ivan over him.

To be honest, bosingwa compliments danny well, just like Cole compliments Mata, both add width.
Ivanovic doesn't add the same width IMO.

Yes but Cole is lightyears ahead of Bosingwa, he looked good for a few games at the start but in reality is a liability defensivly imo, while he's useful in attack he's not vial I don't think.

The only players who are on Cole's level are Dani Alves and Lahm IMO.
I still prefer Bosingwa against any team who are not a top 6 team.

LOL @ all this Bosingwa hate.
Gotta love how Cole can get raped a new one by the most one-footed, one dimensional player in the world and Nani in the space of a few months at OT but is completely immune from criticism, then he has a good game going forward against a piss poor Sunderland and Swansea and he's the best LB in the world.
Bosingwa has been better than Cole in every single department this season (bar set-piece defending) and you guys need to open your damn eyes.

Which is where alot of the goals are coming from? Bolton + Swansea shouldn't be scoring against us full stop yet they get easy goals from crappy set piece defending.

Cole is still the best LB in the world despite what Madrid fans say. Bosingwa has done well in attack but his set piece defending is poor. Neither shold be hated on IMO.
