We play a 3 striker system. We can get away with 2 if need be. But we can't survive with only 1 striker unless we entirely change how we play. Namely, with a 1 striker system, you need a AM and you need wing players capable of scoring consistently too.

Sure we need another last option backup at striker. But Jesé is way too good to have as a third option back up, even in Madrid. At least in this point of his career where he probably wants to play as much as he can. A good 32-34 year old striker should be an option to get for cheap. Someone who can offer a different dimension.

Yeah... anyone really, even if they're not the greatest. I would suggest Zizou and Flo get on it because stuff happens in a season. If we didn't play a tridente system, we'd be more than fine. In fact, I'd like us to play games without BBC intentionally so we get used to an alternative tactic. This would solve the issue.

It's best suited to the players available. nobody said that we will always play 433. if 1+ of BBC isn't available zidane should play to the strengths of the available players.

@valkyrja, yup, i'd say this is the most sensible option, hell, its only one game. i might even suggest benching casemiro (Who doesn't have reasonable competition yet) and carvajal....but i know fans on here are really interested in us winning this lol

Marcelo cheaply tried a challenge and gets beat, Ramos has to come over, Varane comes to cover player Ramos had to leave... and Kova/Carvajal lose contain behind them.

It all started by crap defending by marcelo.

Marcelo was at fault but varane *bleep* up there. Is it so hard not to be bias? Varane absolutely screwed up there.

Moratas positioning has been poor. We miss Benz so much. He's just making weird runs and not in sync with the team. On the ball though, morata has had good touches.

What did Varane do? He challenged and the ball went past him and his man. It's not like his man did anything. The ball went past and nobody covered. He can't just clatter into his guy... that's a foul. He occupied him so he couldn't play the ball.

Give him time it's his 4th game since coming back. I like the midfield today. All 3 have been very good. Casemiro trying to buy fks a few times creating countera. Other than that they have been very good

Sport Varane didnt challenge for the ball successfully and that's the problem in that instance. It was rather lethargic of him imo

He didn't challenge hard because he was in the box and he might have clattered into the guy. He got into his jersey and his guy missed his control COMPLETELY as a result. It fell to the unmarked man who was 10 meters to the side who took the shot.
