Besides all that, there's been the huge new Wild Cards deal, the Wild Cards reread, lots of stuff with HBO that I cannot talk about yet, and of course -- always, always -- WINDS OF WINTER.

So much to do. And the days go by so quickly. I love my work, all my work, all my projects, all my children, but sometimes it seems as if the harder I work, the further behind I get.

Maybe things will calm down soon. But I am not holding my breath.

Today the gap between ADWD and TWOW officially passes the gap between AFFC and ADWD.

Good.

More time to read and then re-read WILD CARDS.

Doubt he'll change any major events. Won't be any different than season 6.

Finally finished reading A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. The last story about the second Blackfyre Rebellion gets quite interesting. I love the Backfyre rebellions. Such an underused storyline on the tv show and in the books.

I was expecting the story to finish with Egg ascending to King. Wonder if GRRM will continue the story someday.

I did find the way Baelor Breakspear dying a bit ridiculous. All for a random hedge knight.

I also found it disturbing in the second story how that young queen (who ends up being Tywin Lannister's Grandma) marries that random old guy to keep her castle. Even if old guy marrying young girl seems rather common in this world.

GURM said he will continue with the Dunk & Egg stories once he finishes TWOW. Apparently it's going to take us North during Lord Beron Stark's time when there's a succession crisis in Winterfell.

And yes, before someone asks, I AM STILL WORKING ON WINDS OF WINTER and will continue working on it until it's done. I will confess, I do wish I could clone myself, or find a way to squeeze more hours into the day, or a way to go without sleep. But this is what it is, so I keep on juggling. WINDS OF WINTER, five successor shows, FIRE AND BLOOD (that's the GRRMarillion, remember?), four new Wild Cards books, some things I can't tell you about yet... it's a good thing I love my work.

Didnt this pos say his only priority is TWOW? Of course its taking him 20 years to finish the book when he is working on 10 projects ffs.

I think he stopped enjoying ASOIAF when he started struggling to write a good (and different) ending, hence all the distractions - GoT, GoT prequels, ASOIAF spin offs, Wild Cards - all of which he immensely enjoys talking about.

Won't mind if he cancels the book series and just write script for the tv show himself.

Apparently George will be more involved in the GoT prequels, I take that as good news as much as I want him to write ASOIAF too.

M99 said it takes at least 4 months till the book is out once he finished it so he only has 3 months left for a 2017 release Laughing
Tbh the way he's talking about WOW it feels very much like he thinks of it as his last book of the series. I don't see him ever finishing DOS. I still think he will release WOW as really there can't be that much left (even lost count of the pre released chapters) to write but really that's it.

Won't finish his series because he's just not good enough.
