Another fabregas saga in the making
Seriously why cant these English clubs train some English players and make them world class instead of poaching spanish players from madrid and barca academies?
- Spoiler:
- obviously im pissed
Arsenal set to swoop for Real Madrid starlet
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is set to recruit another Spanish prospect after setting up a deal with Real Madrid.
Midfielder Jose Rodriguez, 16, is ready to move to the Emirates following a tip-off from Arsenal’s Spanish scout Francis Cagigao.
Wenger will offer Rodriguez a five-year contract starting next season after the player impressed in the Under-17s World Championships, with Arsenal now negotiating with Real Madrid over compensation.
The Gunners, who snapped up Hector Bellerin and Jon Toral from Barcelona this summer, have also been keeping tabs on another Real Madrid youngster.
But Chelsea are now leading the hunt to sign Madrid’s 16-year-old striker Jose Pozo, who is keen to move, with Manchester City also watching developments.

It's better that means he will get a chance. By then the pressure from Madrid should make him say yes and we won't be like Barca and we will pay

Re: Another fabregas saga in the making
Except we'll probably pay what Arsenal will ask for if Jose does become very good.
Train him well Wenger, his Madrid DNA will surely be useful.

Poaching lol.
Like we're kidnapping him and putting a gun to his head to play for us. :/
It's his decision, and a smart one as well.
We're more likely to give him a chance in the first team, if he performs well in the U18's.

Re: Another fabregas saga in the making
Actually contacting and offering contract for a under 21 player is illegal and arsenal has to pay madrid some money.

Tbh, Wenger please buy Pozo too, I'd much rather have Pozo at Arsenal instead of City and Chelsea
Gonna get pissed off for sure if City or Chelsea buys any of our youths

And we are?
We've worked out some compensation for the player.

Just pointing out that Arsenal have 2 home grown players in the first XI ... RM have 1[/quote]Number of players in first 11 is hardly a fair coparsion sicne our club is more demanding and actually better quality.
But if you compare both academies RM academy is on par with Arsenal if not better.
Well, whats the relevance of number of home grown players in first 11 any way?
Re: Another fabregas saga in the making
Its illegal to start with .paying some compensation doesn't make it less illegal.the_gooner wrote:Adit wrote:Actually contacting and offering contract for a under 21 player is illegal and arsenal has to pay madrid some money.

Wilshere anybody?
Were making our English players great, sorry if your too obsessed with shirt sales and circle jerking over your brand new Kaka shirt to ignore your players.
In your whole squad you have 2-4 home grown players. Look at our squads home grown status.
EDIT: 3 in the first XI (if Frimpong plays)

Alot of legends have came from our academy and while we haven't treated our academy fair how do you know how we will treat it in Joses generation? He could play for us considiring his age also his talent.

Re: Another fabregas saga in the making
From where i stand, this is WIN WIN WIN for all parties involved.
Wenger clearly understand how to develop midfielders, so let him do his work with Rodriguez. Hopefully he gets them some trophies
