PSG making a farce of FFP and deservedly so
Got Serge Aurier on a 1 year loan with option to buy The beauty is that Toulouse pays 75% of the wages too... the option to buy covers all of it and is present valued.
Doing the same with Di Maria... Madrid have agreed to loan them the player with a 60+ mil option to buy. The wage is the issue as Madrid don't want to cover that like Toulouse. So what are PSG looking to do? They are going to sell Camara to a Qatari pro team for 20 mil They'll give Madrid the money as part of the Di Maria deal so that Madrid doesn't have to fork up cash to pay his wages. Waiting for Di Maria to come back from vacation so they can finalize everything. The Di Maria part is a rumor... but given that the Aurier deal went down, i don't doubt it much.
Brilliant.... just brilliant lol.

Yes clubs finding loopholes in rules which allow them to spend like mad with no consequences and further unbalancing their own league is 'brilliant'

Re: PSG making a farce of FFP and deservedly so
How much of this is actually true?
I've spent about 15 minutes trying to find more information about 'Toulouse paying 75% of Aurier's wages' and 'Camara leaving to Qatar for €20m' but I have found absolutely nothing.
L'Équipe mentioned nothing about the wage contribution in their news release, neither did Le Parisien, neither did the official PSG site.
Where is this information coming from?

Re: PSG making a farce of FFP and deservedly so
The fact is... Ligue 1 clubs love PSG because they are making them richer. Better media deals, better marketing deals, etc. It's also helping the league a ton. Monaco wouldn't spend like this and OM wouldn't have hired Bielsa if the status quo had remained prior to the Qataris joining in... they need to find a way to be competitive with PSG. They won't ouspend them... but there are other ways.
That's why you had so many Ligue 1 presidents rip into FFP after their ruling against PSG. They felt (and justifiably so) that the rules were set up to protect clubs like Madrid and Bayern from new competition as opposed to providing any sort of equality.
As far as the details of the deals... they get talked about by the top football pundits on football shows. They have to say that the Aurier deal was a loan; but there's no need to make the rest truly public. No reason to rub UEFA's noses in it. Smarter to leak info to the pundits and let them discuss it without ever making an official news release.
And PSG aren't breaking any rules... none. They're doing exactly what teams like Atleti and other La Liga teams are doing: using loans to build their team. La Liga teams do it because they're broke and FFP would destroy them if they didn't do it this way. PSG do it for other reasons lol.

Re: PSG making a farce of FFP and deservedly so
Who are these pundits, specifically? And on what show? Surely if it was mentioned live on television, it would come up on the internet.
I just had a look on Twitter where all the trash is posted, but again, I see nothing, not even a rumour about this '75% wage contribution'.
Le Parisien had an article about why diMa wouldn't be possible in this window, a couple of days ago. Something along the lines of even if a loan was agreed, Real Madrid would not want to contribute to his wages. So that means PSG would have to pay all of his wages.
And even though Alex, Ménez, and Jallet have left, including the relatively high wages of Luiz and diMa would make the payroll much higher. And that was without including the potential wages of Aurier, who I'm assuming doesn't make much (in comparison to diMa's requests at RM).
This all seems incredibly far-fetched.

RMC has football shows on the radio during the day. Luis Fernandez (i think it was him) mentioned it. I also heard it on "l'Equipe du Soir" on Equipe 21 last night.
The Di Maria deal is rumor obviously. But the Aurier deal is fact.

This thread is bullshit
No way this is happening, ban those that even try.
French football wouldn't be a loss to European football.
PSG have replaced Madrid as the team that we pretend are a top team circa 2007-2013

If they do something as derogatory as this, it will be such a shame.
All the uber rich clubs will start doing it. the sugar daddies will prevail. Football will die.
And how on earth the OP is justifying such a deed. 'deservedly so'

Re: PSG making a farce of FFP and deservedly so
they would start doing it? you think you are going to sign players from every club with deferred payments and no cash upfront? loooool, it's not gonna work.
anyway, if that's really a problem, i could see uefa coming up with a provision that if a club really does put such clause with an obligation to buy in a loan, then that cash flow will be counted back to the year the player moved to a different club and effectively count in your financials towards that year. it would render such financial engineering absolutely useless.

Re: PSG making a farce of FFP and deservedly so
They can't do anything about it Nick... it's been going on for years. It would kills so many clubs that it would be ridiculous.
They key is this: UEFA said that the 100 mil per year marketing contract that PSG signed last year was not reasonable and the correct market price is 25 mil because that was the market precedent with the other elite clubs in Europe. Well... Man U just signed a 100 mil per year marketing contract. So when PSG meet with UEFA this season, UEFA has to either grant them the full impact of the 100 mil or haircut Man U's to 25. If they don't, they'll get killed on appeal in the international court in Switzerland and lose.
Knowing this, PSG is just deferring the cost until next summer. They take the full brunt of these purchases then. It's not like it's going away lol. But they are betting, and reasonably so, that they will have no problems since they have an additional 75 mil per season that will count on the books.
They could drag UEFA to court right now and get that 100 mil contract reinstated to the full amount... but that won't help them immediately and they need to transact on Di Maria now. Getting a rulling in 30-60 days does nothing for them.

Re: PSG making a farce of FFP and deservedly so
The thing about loopholes is that they eventually get filled up. If what Sport wrote is remotely true, it wouldn't last as long as one would think.
Do not think it's great to brag about using a loop hole to gain an advantage. Unless I personally gain from it or the club I support does then it's all good.
You know, being the hypocritical, double standard man I am...

Re: PSG making a farce of FFP and deservedly so
Deserved because FFP has nothing to do with creating equal opportunities in the game or helping the smaller teams... it's all about protecting the brands of Bayern, Madrid, etc. since no team is allowed to invest to catch up to them.
That's the crazy thing. You can't invest equity into the club and guarantee the life of all the contracts that are active on the club via bank guarantees.... it's not allowed. If you were creating instability at a club, that's one thing. But investors who are looking to put capital over the long term to raise the club to a higher level are just not allowed. In what industry is that even remotely seen??? none lol.
FFP is a farce. If you want to create an even playing field... the only way is to implement a salary cap for everyone. Then OK. But this thing is stupid and elitist. It's a communist/socialist bs idea that has no place in the modern world.

Re: PSG making a farce of FFP and deservedly so
sports still trying to make a case for PSG's shady deal with a Qatari bank and compare it to United's Adidas deal
give it up ffs
PSG and Ligue 1 are nowhere near the stature of United and the Premier League therefore valuations on sponsorships are going to be DRASTICALLY higher for United.
take off them tainted glasses, Lique 1 and french teams are still small time compared to the premier league
comparing a deal with a legit company like Adidas, to a Slave driven countries bank who just happens to own the team as well
give it up ffs

Re: PSG making a farce of FFP and deservedly so
Tin foil hat nonsense.
You build a team from the ground up. This stops smaller teams spending behind their means and balances out the league. It's not all about PSG and their quest to become relevant.
It isn't anybody's fault that France is a rugby country. Nobody's fault that they're not seen as a top tier club.
Restructure the club, build from the foundations up. America have caps in their sports ffs. No crying in the land of capitilsm there.
Look at monopolies in business. They're illegal yet nobody is crying about ethics and such conspiracy nonsense.
Only people who have a problem with FFP are city and PSG sympathisers.
Even saying that, city aren't pissing and moaning as the French are.

whatever PSG are still going to crap all over FFP and UEFA and there's nothing anyone can do about it I love it when free trade and capitalism overcome manufactured barriers to entry/investment.
