Africa Cup Of Nations 2012!
Most of the qualifiers have been completed!
And 14 out of 16 teams have qualified. The remaining qualifiers are being played tomorrow, and only two of them will have any significance (Algeria vs CAF and Morocco vs Tanzania).
The 14 qualified teams are:
Gabon (as co-hosts)
Equitorial Guinea (as co-hosts)
Mali (as Group A winner)
Guinea (as Group B winner)
Zambia (as Group C winner)
____ (Group D winner, TBD tomorrow)
Senegal (as Group E winner)
Burkina Faso (as Group F winner)
Niger (as Group G winner)
Côte d'Ivoire (as Group H winner)
Ghana (as Group I winner)
Angola (as Group J winner)
Botswana (as Group K winner)
Tunisia (as Group K runners-up)
Libya (as 1st best runners-up baby! )
_____ (2nd best runners-up, TBD tomorrow)
The draw will be held on the 29th of October.
I expect some spicy games here. High level of competition also.
It's a shame that Nigeria, Egypt (bottom of their group lulz) and Algeria haven't made it.
Botswana have really surprised me though. It's the first time they ever make it to the finals, and they've done so in style.
What are your thoughts? Discuss.

Gervinho is gone
But SONG IS STAYING!
We didn't qualify. We played like sh!t for most of it and didn't deserve to go through. It had nothing to do with the revolution either; we just sucked. Too many old players were still being picked and played. Shikabala was not given enough of a chance to prove himself even though he's probably our best player. Pity..

Even if Egypt had qualified, we probably wouldn't have done jack. Team management was horrible.

I know the feeling bro. Nigeria
The corruption within are FA has become so disgusting that we may need to adopt Ghana's tactics to end this corrpution.
This CANNOT go on.

Re: Africa Cup Of Nations 2012!
Ghana, Cote D'ivoire and Nigeria are the best teams. Algeria and Morocco are very close, or even equal to them too. Nigeria always perform well in AFCON but Ghana haven't had a solid tournament for a while (Yes, yes, I know all about the last one, but that might just be a one-off thing).
Cote D'iviore and Ghana are the likeliest candidates to win though.
Cameroon would have been a nice addition though

Can't agree there. We have a fantastic future if incoporate our youth correctly and on paper we have a brillaint squad but the corruption within the FA is killing us and FAST.
I really fear for our future if something radical is not done and soon.

Extreme. I think a guy named Rollins led a revolution in Ghana and killed EVERY SINGLE corrupt figure. Pulled Ghana out of International Competition and completly rebuilt the country and its football.
They are years ahead of us. It's a scary prospect but it is soon becoming a harsh reality that might happen if this contiues.

Re: Africa Cup Of Nations 2012!
I really hope Ghana wins it, we've not won the AFCON since we beat Libya on penalties in Libya '82. It will be great for this side to finally win it, especially after the disappointment of finishing third when we last hosted the tournament in 2008, we were the beaten finalist in 2010, judging by our progress and the lack of it by our closest rivals, I have a feeling we'll finally win it.
I think the new setup is excellent and our first 11 is the team to beat on the continent.
Our bench would have KP Boateng, Adiyah, Prince Tagoe, Jonathan Mensah, Muntari, Essien? , Jordan Ayew. We should have more than enough arsenal to win the trophy. We also have plans of naturalizing Ahmed Toure, an Ivorian striker who plays for Asante Kotoko, he's currently the best player in the Ghana league.

Pantsil - Vorsah - Mensah - Opare
Derek Boateng - Agyemang-Badu
Andre Ayew - Asamoah - Inkoom
