What's up with Albiol

I had written this guy off and now after 2 decent starts at Real he plays entire game for Spanish seleccion in 2 different positions (half at CB and 2nd half at RB) and looks good again. Who would have thought????

I think he has always been a good defender but then everyone (including me) attacked Albiol for some bad form and blamed everything on him. He doesn't even start for us and we always pick on him.

It's another case of Mou's upgradings. I had a feeling this was what Mou was trying to do with Albiol (similair to how he upgraded Marcelo)

Tbh I think it's worth to do it since in his Valencia days he was very calm and could be your ball playing CB

he was better than ramos as RB

He hasn't faced a decent attack yet Bill.

Same old Albiol, people vilify him here so much that you would think he is bad, when he is infact a good player. When he is given confidence like Del Bosque is doing, then he performs naturally.

He's not bad, just a nervous fraker. If he would stay calm he would be way better

Yup put up some really good numbers too

He needs to be paired with a well paced CB though Ramos, Varane or Pepe

Him and Carvalho together is scary to watch....

Again... he's played against crap teams with crap forwards. Let's see how he does when challenged.

TBF he has been playing much better. Crap teams or not, he looks more confident which is nice.

TbH I still think he's not going to get much playing time.As for him being our ball playing Cb it's pretty ovious that That's gonna be Varane at some point., and for now Ramos , should he move to Cb will occuply that position.

All he can hope for is serious injury to break in and cement a place.

I don't see him being 'vilified' without a just cause, he has consistently performed poorly when put under pressure and his unforced errors have cost Madrid more than his fair share of goals.

I don't care how he performed against the likes of Milan Baros, who has been history for quite some time, and the rest of the distinctly mediocre Czech team. If he can put an error-free shift or two for Madrid in games that actually matter, he'll get my praise, but to date he has done no such thing - which is why he is a backup player.

I've been saying Alby is solid for ages, he's not a world beater but he's a good man to have in your squad...

Albiol was victim of a cranial trauma early this day in spanish trainnig session. Real madrid player was transported to CEMTRO hospital for further tests.

He has a cheekbone fracture. He left the spanish NT concentration.
