Is Ander not lost behind all this Llorente,Munain,Javi Martinez hype, because to me at least, everytime I watch Atletico....he is the person who is setting the pass and move tone and at the centre of everything.
Would it be fair to say he is at least as important (or for me more) as those outlined above?
Madrid??? :lol!:

Re: From Basque Country with Love
I knew Deschamps and Lizarazu were Basque.
Was it one of the reasons why Deschamps got Azipilicueta(spell check) from Osasuna ?

Speaking of Athletic, a director from Osasuna had this to say to the Athletic president during the match at Pamplona:
"Don't worry, the ball boys are part of the club youth. You can steal them like u always do."

Deschamp and Griezzmann are pure Basque descent as well. Deschamp played for our selekzioa while Griezmann is still in the deciding point I believe.
Casillas is also of pure Basque descent as his parents moved from Bilbao to the Mostolles in Madrid. He also spent a lot of his childhood in Bilbao.
His name (and his brothers) is also pure Basque, Pele and Maradona are also of Basque Descent.

Fergie re Athletic: It was an outstanding performance. They had highest distance run stats of opposition team at Old Trafford in 10 years.

Excellent observation Josh.
Ander to me has been immensely underrated and especially for his exploits in the U-21 World Cup.
For Bilbao, he too is overlooked as admittedly they don't look as good without them.
He provides the front element of composure and vision.
Out of those named, I'd say he would be more important than Muniain and maybe Javi since Bilbao have an solid mid and back.
But I admire your appreciation and desire to bring him into the GL map since he is overlooked now.

This quote spurns from how Bilbao are known to woe some of the Navarrese youth as Javi is just one example.
Sadly for Osasuna maybe if they actually stuck to their basque promise of utilizing their fine youth, then I would agree as otherwise he should pipe down.

I honestly don't know too much about this Surag. Sorry.
But I can say it may be one of the factors considering Deschamps speaks highly of the Basque footballing art as Azpi embodies that in his fullback position.

LMAO mole
I only was merely naming those of the heritage.

Most of the Argentines of today and yesteryear were mostly Italian descent.
Maradona though, is of Mestizo descent.

Re: From Basque Country with Love
The Taínos were pre-Columbian inhabitants of the Bahamas, Greater Antilles, and the northern Lesser Antilles. It is thought that the seafaring Taínos are relatives of the Arawak people of South America.[1] The Taíno language is a member of the Arawakan language family, which ranges from South America across the Caribbean.

Ferguson: "we've looked at the stats and we've proved that Bilbao are the team that has ran the most at Old Trafford in the last 10 years"
"It amazes me that Athletic trained for 3 hours in 2 sessions before the match, and then played like that"

SAF: They have a very good chance of going very far. They deserve it and I wish them the best. It's a tribute to effort instilled by their coach and it's marvelous to watch them play this way. If they keep playing like this, they deserve to go to the final.

Wow @ the Basque history? I always thought it was just one of the parts in Spain, didnt know its so big and has so many big name descents?
And Bilbao played brilliantly in both legs. The amount of training they do if its true is amazing, they must train like Barca and Real, hard and long and consistent, no wonder they can play like that on the pitch!
