Is it just me or is Xavi...

Starting to decline?Dont get me wrong,he still is awesome,but ever since last season i have been noticing he is being sub par compared to his former self.

He's played constantly for like 4 years now without major injuries. He's 31, 32 in January. It happens.

There's also the fact Barcelona are trying to integrate a lot of new players. Maybe the pressure gets to him, who knows.

Or maybe living in his parent's house at 32 is taking its toll

What do you refer to then? I must be watching a different Xavi. Godly against Osasuna and last year, despite clearly suffering from WC hangover(having played football nonstop for 3 straight years he admitted he was extremely fatigued) he was the ultimate big game player. He was brilliant in the big games last year.

I just don't think he's in decline... full stop. Keep watching this year...At the end we'll assess it.

I've given him plenty of credit... he's been brilliant and his goals have been priceless. Wonderful finish tonight, but his overall performance wasn't great. As I said, few players were impressive... Adriano was excellent and Messi finished the game really strongly... otherwise, no great performers in my opinion.

Cesc was far from the best player.

xavi looked average because he had no short pass options really. When he isnt passing he offers little else.

When Xavi had Eto'o to slip 30 yard passes straight through the defense to, he looked like Christ himself...Now Messi and Fabregas just dribble past everyone and score

Xavi will still stay class though, but not as great as the Xavi of before.

At 32, even your neurological decision making gets slower by microseconds. Eventually, you are simply not as fast physically and mentally as you were before. Happened to Pirlo, no reason it would not happen to Xavi. I think rest should help him boss in the more important matches though.
