Re: El Pipita - Gonzalo Higuain
Neymar would actually be lucky to come at this very precise moment, with guys like Benzema or Higuain who knows what it means to fight adversity. Added to the fact that our coaching staff is actually stable and going the way of patience for all things in general.
But of course, even for a kid that you would sign at 40M, expectations are going to be ridiculous. Expectations of him being already as good as Ronaldo or Messi for some, and to deliver instantaneously.
Just look at the response by the less smart among us, looking at his performances with Brazil last summer. Or Hazard for example getting owned in CL. Young players have adaptation period to go through, no matter how good they are. Some will make it look easy, even though it isnt.
When you are used to play at a early age for a single team you who the ins and outs of, change is always difficult. It can be change in context, different competitions or playing with the NT with a completely different structure.

Re: El Pipita - Gonzalo Higuain
I remember that scoffed shot. It really wasn't pretty lol
But what stood out for me is that he never stopped trying, he was visibly deflated due to the reaction but he pushed on regardless.
What those who wrote him off may not remember is that we beat Zaragoza that night by one goal to nil.
A goal that Pipa assisted.

Re: El Pipita - Gonzalo Higuain
He assisted but the knives were sharpened by then. His tenacity to overcome such footballing adversity is really something to think about. With that same breath, I should commend Benzema for that same thing as well.

Re: El Pipita - Gonzalo Higuain
True, Benzema is starting to grow on me as well. I appreciate the will to overcome expectations.
Higuain had to (and still has too because of some haters) prove that he dosn't suck.
Benzema had to (and still has too because of some haters) prove that he is indeed the real deal.
Different kinds of pressure but the fans really get behind players that prove themselves. Pipa is a fan favourite now and Benz is quickly becoming one as well.

Yeah. Always liked Higuain as a person, but not so much his style of play. But at the end of the day, he produces and he's representing Madrid well. Not much more you can ask for.
Can only wish success for guys like this.

TBH, I loved Higuain, but for some reason after Banz started sucking and I got over the fact we would never get Llorente ( ) Ive liked Benz more and havent been able to shake it off.

Re: El Pipita - Gonzalo Higuain
Glad he's shaken off his bad back injury, many predicted he'll never hit top form again, but they couldn't have been more wrong, I'm happy he scored the goal of the match today.
I still don't think we'll be seeing too much of the Benzema Higuain combo in many big matches, Mourinho will prefer to have one on the bench, to sub in when the game gets tough, so far the experiment is working to perfection.

Re: El Pipita - Gonzalo Higuain
Great game by Higuain. Because he roamed more and his understanding with benz was so good, he actually was good at creating... impressed with his overall game in this one. He should do it more and not just concentrate on being a box player. It may bring down his insane stats.... but he should really use all his ability.

You play like your coach wants you to do. Nothing he can do about it really.

A really great game, its unfortunate we won't get to see both of them play together more often.

Re: El Pipita - Gonzalo Higuain
Pipa tweeted that he's going to get a tattoo.
Didn't say what it was going to be but if it's the Real Madrid crest this guy becomes 100% legend imo.

Re: El Pipita - Gonzalo Higuain
Pipita really showed a lot that i hadn't seen last game... very impressed (repeating myself, i know). He's not a creative striker by trade but he doesn't lack creativity. He or the coach just choose to play him as a pure poacher.
His first touch has improved and you clearly see him lifting his head and scanning a larger radius.
So far, i've only seen him do this when playing with Benz. Hope to see it more with CR7. It would be a shame otherwise.
Don't really watch Argentina much because their NT games are usually at some insane time for me... how does he play for them now? Still feeding off the crumbs or do they actually play some kind of system?

Tatoos are stupid IMO, but Pipita can make anything cool.

And in other news, sports is still left surprised and speechless by Higuain demonstrating creative ability...
