Goal ratings?

Today messi directly involved in 5 goals scoring 3 assisting 2. I think 9.5 would be a fair rating.

Also until now messi got a "10" three times, one i remember was against arsenal.
Unfair thing was when he scored 2 away goals vs R.Madrid in CL semi-final (second goal alone deserve 10)

But his standards increased from then.

Also, notice how they give it to people you don't expect them to get a 10. Like Ronaldinho os his down days with Milan, when he was bad and suddenly wow. Even Messi against Tenerife came after an unusual down spell for Messi.

Arshavin's performance against pool was very surprising, and so was El Hadry's goalkeeping masterclass. Messi in the other hand as I said have high standards, thus he probably will only get a 10 if he does another Arsenal.

Messi got a 10 with 4 goals vs Arsenal

He hit the crossbar+ vs a laliga team. 10 means he literally teared the other team in half on his own. Like what he did vs arsenal and real madrid.

Ronaldo scores 1 and gets an 8.0 rating, could these guys be more biased?

Btw, Messi has gotten a 10 twice, once against Arsenal and once against Leverkusen. Only 10 rating I've seen from them.

Why do people make so many threads on Goal.com ratings, seriously?

I know this is old (the thread), but it has to stop.

We know they suck. We don't need a thread on it every 2 weeks. The contents of the thread are always 'yeah they suck at it'. So why do we need a bunch more saying eexxxaaccctttlyy the same thing?

As for bias. They have none seeing as I doubt they watch the games.

Im pretty sure its not like they have a group of experts that discuss what ratings would be fair. Pretty sure they assign some wannabe journalist to each game who writes a report and gives ratings that they probably care very little about and arent very bothered with the accuracy of them. If you think thats worth getting trolled for then, ok

Ronaldinho got a 10 back in the day. A keeper got it as well for an international game once, too

What i've noticed:

Pretty much any rating of 9.0 and below gets forgotten in a few days

A 9.5 gets a raised eyebrow

A 10.0 gets two raised eyebrows goes down in football forum history


After Messi's game against Leverkusen, me and my mates were talking basketball and didn't know the Barca score (early morning in Australia), a friend stops us mid sentence and says like "guys, Messi scored 5 and and got a 10.0 on Goal". So it IS a pretty big deal when someone gets a 10

I remember Messi got a ten Vs Arsenal and Leverkusen.Also the best GK in the world ElHadary got the first ever goal.com 10.0 vs italy.
