I can't find the FIFA 2012 demo on PSN, any ideas?

Nevermind, found it, downloading now for PS3.

The new Tactical Defending is a laugh - in a good way. It's so humbling when I completely mistime a tackle and a player just jogs through my defence and scores.

Then I did the stupid thing and played Barcelona on World Class despite being crap with this new system. Needless to say, I was embarrssed numerous times trying to win the ball back. It was hard enough on the old system...

Even though it's going to take a lot of practice and getting used to, I think it's a step in a right direction. The old honing-tackle system where you could just hold a button down required very little skill and made defending a bit too easy for my tastes.

And this has a knock-on effect on passing, as without the excesiive pressure from the AI I can actually build attacks without rushing. It's great.

There are a few downsides: marking is horrible. Defenders don't go with their man in open-play and in set-pieces, which makes it easy to score and concede with crosses into the box. Defences is still too easy to pull out of position, though I think they have a much better shape now.

I also think it's too easy to dribble around players. You can just run through a whole team with a quick player; very akin to the old FIFA games. I was scoring goals where I just used Walcott to run with the ball straight from kick-off. Couple this with the new tackling system... yeah, I can see it being abused.

Speaking of abuse; chip through balls seem more difficult to execute. Another good thing.

That's my assessment of the demo. I think FIFA12 will be a very good game once you get over the steep learning curve that comes with Tactical Defending.

as long as fifa works every year to create a game which comes closer to the grand image ( eliminating ping pong passing) fifa 11 was nothing more than that online, i want actual football out there, not 5x speed running people with strength ping pong pass and goal

I find the game more crisp and clean. It's so refreshing not being hounded by the defense. My only problem is on defense, all this new stuff i going to take some time to get used to. Goetze is unbelievable to me, at least in the demo.

Just downloaded the demo.... The defending is mad weird, I'm getting raped left right and center (and this is coming from a FIFA monster)

I'm not liking this tactical defending at all..... It's not about being a pressure "whore" and holding down X/A all day, I just don't like my defenders dancing around an attacker ffs

I know this is more like real life but they could have implemented it better, in real life a defender has full control of his legs... We are using our thumbs playing a video game TV... Not everything can be carried over as it is to a video game

I hope I end up liking it though because it will probably be in every FIFA from this point on

PSN doesn't release it till the 14th. 15th in Aus(2am) I dunno local timezones, but it's cause Sony updates their store once a week which happens to be on a Wednesday. Anybody played the PC version? Is it still behind the newgen colsoles?

and before t hat 1998..which had Futsal in it as well

love the demo, the tackling is difficult to get used to but once u master it will be more fun....the game does seem more crips and clean cut...just the image anad presentation looks great...it's actually a challenge to play against a CPU for once

its a beast man.

- improved gameplay

- better graphics

- AI intelligence is sick, played Barca at pro and they still beat me 3-1

- player characteristics are evident, players like Messi, Sanchez, Silva attack the box, Messi assists mostly.

this game is so super, can't w8t for the original to be out in two weeks.

- some defenders are too slow like Lescott ahead of Messi and Messi easily runs past him like crazy.

- Barca full backs are unheard of fast, I was playing Man Sh*tty vs Barca [AI] and I passed to Micah Richards who was way ahead of Abidal and Abidal runs and overtakes Richards (how on earth is that possible?)

- there was an instance where commentator said "A player like Tevez is an inspiration to younger players upcoming with his professional work attitude" I mean

but all in all great game, this gonna be the best Fifa ever.


Its also a bit hard to score so scorelines like 8-0 and co are hard to come by, but alas this is just the demo so.....


but anyway it deserves

In three weeks time....most of us will have mastered the game, and we'll start talking about EA not making it challenging enough

Fifa Street(or fifa street 4 as some people call it) is coming out soon, which will of course be more skills based but they are implementing some futsal stadiums etc hopefully it turns out good.

On topic:

Game is awesome, I can't wait to destroy all those luckers who use homing missile tackling with 0 skills and then manage to get a goal because they are using a good team.

Also looks like strength is not the key factor so smaller players like Messi etc will actually thrive

Defending is pretty weird but I'll keep playing it so I can beat all my mates by the time it comes out

You can thrive with Messi in any FIFA game if you use the right tactics

To be realistic .. FIFA 11 was way too fast .... 12 is way too slow . The only positive thing about this slow gameplay is that now you can actually intercept passes .

Speaking of AI, played the PES demo last night and noticed massive improvement in the AI on PES, unsure if its better than Fifa's AI but a massive improvement none the less.....

I downloaded it a 2am this morning LOL

Was thoroughly impressed with what i saw, still has very outdated shooting animations but other than that very impressed....

They key for me getting it is will the online be playable lol

OHH PES demo is PES demo 2 on Xbox Live because they never got a PES demo 1 lol.

Downloading it now and yeah Konami servers are notoriously shambolic lol.
