Giaccherini hails Juve welcome
Emanuele Giaccherini is fired up after joining Juventus and their star players. “I was immediately treated like one of them.”
The ex-Cesena winger only made his Serie A debut last season, but in a year has become an Italian international, joined Juve, got married and will become a father next month.
“These are all dreams come true and it really doesn’t get better than this,” he grinned on Juventus Channel.
“I was given a very warm welcome and have more than positive sensations at being here. Despite having reached one of the most important teams in Italy and Europe, which is packed with champions, I was immediately treated like one of them.
“My first three professional seasons were in Serie C. There is more aggression there, a tougher tempo and less technique, but that changes as you step up the divisions. When you are in Serie A, you can run as much as you like, but won’t get anywhere without quality.
“I always believed that with hard work I’d make it and now that I am at the top of the sport, I have no intention of stopping. I really want to prove myself and do everything possible for this team.
“I am a very determined person when it comes to my work and I’m convinced that allows you to achieve any objective.”
Giaccherini was chosen specifically by Coach Antonio Conte because of that attitude.
“It’s true, he makes you work really hard in training. He really put us under pressure and that’s good, as it is the only way to get better.
“Last season I played 4-3-3 at Cesena and scored seven goals. With the 4-2-4 system I might be further from the net, but I hope to match or even surpass that figure.
“Conte asks me for sacrifice and quality in the one-on-one and I think have the characteristics to satisfy his needs.”
