Rate your club's transfer window
From 1 to 10 and an explanation why you gave that mark. Comment others' ratings if you wish.
I hope this isn't too close to the "Which club had the best window" -thread.
Liverpool, 9.
In: Henderson, Downing, Adam, Doni, Coates, Bellamy, Jose Enrique.
Out: Meireles, Joe Cole, Poulsen, Aquilani, Insua, Jovanovic, N'gog Kyrgiakos, PFK + other minor names.
A fair amount of cash spent on new players. Perhaps no marquee signings, but a handful of good players who have already started performing for us. In the end managed to ship out nearly all of our deadwood, albeit most were allowed to leave for free or on loan.
Meireles' departure to Chelsea will be brought up by someone, but we are still very well covered in the CM department + Meireles had not started any game under King Kenny this season.
Overall I'm very pleased with our transfer activity this summer

Barcelona:
9.5/10
Cesc and Sanchez are world class players and would drastically improve any squad including Barcelonas. I feel there was more of a need for another ball playing recognized CB than another midfielder but Pep has a plan and knows what hes doing. In Pep we trust

Re: Rate your club's transfer window
7.5/10... would of been a 9 if we signed a proper rb and not freaking barragan, apart from that i'm pretty much happy, though vicente leaving has made me a very sad panda and mata leaving will surely hurt us a little but still, getting piatti, canales, parejo, alves and ruiz are fantastic deals... plus selling/releasing/loaning all the deadwood

Re: Rate your club's transfer window
Agree with everything Artmorte said.Excellent summer for us.Shifted every deadwood from the club and addressed most of the weakness in the squad.
Meireles leaving is a bit of disappointment but i dont think we will get a better value for him than this and we are very well covered in midfield. So it was probably the most sensible thing to do.I am sure we will spend the money for good replacement in january.
9/ 10 for me. #Comolliforknighthood

I’d say it would be a 9/10 if you have kept Meireles Liverpool guys.
I do rate him in the midfield

30m worth of wages from deadwood GONE
good quality depth IN
sad to see both aa/rm gone
@ billy_gr: RM only played once in midfield for us, and that was under Woy.

Re: Rate your club's transfer window
8/10
signed Young, Jones, De Gea
out Obertan Brown O Shea Bebe
would of been a 10/10 had we a creative central midfielder...but right now the midfield looks great with Cleverley/Anderson and if they keep it up it will of been a 10/10 transfer window...time will tell tho

Re: Rate your club's transfer window
As for players leaving the club, I think we score a 9/10. I never expected us to ship out all (nearly all) the deadwood in one window. That was amazing work by Comolli. The late departure of Raul took a bit of the shine of it but, it'll prove to be a wise move.
As for buying players I think we score a 8/10. Young talented players that want to play for LFC. Sorted out the left flank and added important signing in other areas.
Overall 8.5/10

Re: Rate your club's transfer window
8.5 I guess... we got a lot of young lads for the future and Mata deal was a very good deal. In the end Meireles was also a good deal because otherwise we will have problems with AFCON, Essiens injury, Lampards lack of form lately.
I personally would have preferred to keep Benny cos he was a good player and he never really got a chance to prove with the injuries. Same with Zhirkov but since Mata is a better player than Zhirkov i dont really mind hehe. Kakuta and PVA got loans to PL clubs which is great.

Re: Rate your club's transfer window
5.5/6.5
Everyone commends our moves it seems, but considering the money we spent, our market was not at all that great.
Indeed there are some good signings coupled with some intelligent 'bets' as it were. But what strikes me most, and has done for some years, is the lack of a coherent plan.
Simply put in modern football, if you wan't success in the short to medium term then you pull out all the stops to bring in real top quality talent; see Man city for instance. If you are looking more in the medium to long term a clever market consisting of young talents and measured bets is the way to go; see Roma.
The latter is the one I've always hoped we'd adopt. Especially with the strength of our youth system. But instead, we don't; Infact we do neither!
This markets quality will hinge on Conte and his coaching.

That's a good post, man.
I'm not really in a position to estimate Juve's signings as I haven't seen most of them play but a game or two, but I'm definately eager to see how Conte's Juventus will perform. With the money invested you'd expect an improvement from last season.

Re: Rate your club's transfer window
we got rid of some high earners and brought in pretty much a whole new squad.
What we lacked was a goal scorer and the only experienced one we brought in was Bendtner.
Will have to give it time and see how things go
Gordon
O'Shea----Bramble----Brown----Bardsley
Larsson----Cattermole----Colback
Bendtner----Sessegnon
Gyan
On paper it doesn't look like a bad team, although Gordon isnt back from injury for a wile.

We sold two irreplaceable players.
Brought depth and experience but nothing outstanding.
Cant wait for the season to start.
