Rate Your Club's Transfer Window
With just 1 more day left in the Transfer window, it's that time of year again, where we rate our clubs summer activity.
I will start with Chelsea:
I am not sure we could have a better summer, to be honest. The only downgrade we've made is Luiz to Zouma but since Luiz was best in midfield for us, I don't think it matters a whole lot.
Our poor CF's have all departed and new and improved ones have come in, Fabregas has joined to ensure scrubs will not be stopping us and Luis is a very experienced and able replacement for Cole. Courtois has returned and brought along a new era of Goalkeeping for us.
The only other thing worth noting is we now only have 2 Englishmen in our entire squad but yet we comply with the homegrown rules of the league.
I have to give the window an A+, I said earlier on that it was an A and the only way to make it an A+ was to get rid of Torres, and we did.
Lets hear yours.
I will start with Chelsea:
Shed wrote:IN:
-
Fabregas – £27m
Costa – £32m
Luis – £16m
Drogba – Free
Rémy - £10.5

TOTAL = £85.5m
OUT:
-
Luiz – £50m
Ba – £4.75m
Lukaku – £28m

Recalculated. So:
-
Hilario out → Courtois in
Luiz out → Zouma in
Cole out → Luis in
Lampard out → Cesc in
Eto'o out → Costa in
Ba out → Drogba in
Torres out → Remy in
-
All for £4.75m profit.

Re: Rate Your Club's Transfer Window
1/10
We started off well buying Navas and Kroos then it took a nosedive. We sell the engine of out team and replace him with yet another AM costing 80 bloody million then we lose our CDM with 4 days to go till the transfer window shuts and aren't linked with a single replacement then to add insult to injury we get Chicharito and are happy giving him 3.5 million to sit on our bench as much as the "money w**re" DiMaria used to get before we kicked him out
No team can top our transfer window this season. Not a single one!!!

Bernat, Mathieu, guardado, senderos, banega, guaita, cissokho, postiga, Jonas (probably) out
Mustafi, orban, gomes, Rodrigo, yoel, de Paul, zuculini + gaya and ibanez in
10/10 would get foreign takeover again

Re: Rate Your Club's Transfer Window
Pretty much as close as you can get to a perfect window for Chelsea as stated in the OP.
In a perfect world (FIFA) Ramires would get replaced with one of the Benders and Mikel would have got sold and Marco van Ginkel wouldnt have gone on loan.

Funny, I been thinking the same thing but Khedira in instead of a Bender.

Would work fine too. Both Benders and Khedira have a work rate just as good as Ramires but all three have a much better passing range, although id imagine Khedira would've been much more difficult to pry away from RM (especially now) then the other two would have

I really doubt any of the Benders would be easily available either.fatman123 wrote:id imagine Khedira would've been much more difficult to pry away from RM (especially now) then the other two would have
BTW, no Bender on the Bundesliga transfer list for this window: http://www.bundesliga.de/media/native/transferliste/TL%2034-14-15.pdf

Re: Rate Your Club's Transfer Window
Sold Suarez for good money (Had to sell him due to clause)
Spent sensibly and addressed al the weak spots in the squad, while maintaining wage balance and ended up with great balance.
Showed amazing class to offload a legend back to his home and showing loyalty matters more than money.
Proud of the club this summer.

Re: Rate Your Club's Transfer Window
not bad... i would give Milan a solid B+ ..
i think we could have done better to get rid of some of the dead weights like muntari essien bonera zaccardo and appropriately replaced them.
i mean i can take Torres anyday ahead of anyone, van ginkel is a really smart, fast energetic midfielder, bonaventura is one of those old classic italian AM with eye for goal and good ball control. armero is better than the likes of emanuelson with pace and stamina. Alex and Rami is a really good CBs and we had massive set pieces problems last year. I am very impressed with acquisition of Diego Lopez. Menez is determined to prove himself and he has done great job so far.
so yea i mean given we were nowhere last year... its not a bad market... could have done better but i m happy and satisfied.

Re: Rate Your Club's Transfer Window
i want to say that Chelsea has undoubtly have had best transfer market so far... with atletico... although (with atletico i have only two worries, Courtios should have been replaced with Cech... they should have asked Cech in return) and Felipe Luiz is a massive loss and i dont think atletico has found a better replacement.

Re: Rate Your Club's Transfer Window
7/10 for keepers, Bravo and MATS decent deal for mats, but bravo abit expensive
6/10 for defence, We finally bought two centerbacks, although not the highest quality and a random douglas player
7/10 for midfield, Rakitic for a low price and got back rafinha, didn't really get a real Xavi replacement
8/10 for attack, Suarez in sanchez out and we kept pedro.. loaned out tello, cuenca for free, duelofeu on loan...
overall 7/10 for Barca.

Re: Rate Your Club's Transfer Window
8/10
- replaced an ageing and injury prone Vermaelen with a top prospect, Chambers, who might also become a good DM
- replaced an ageing and limited Sagna with Debuchy who looks much more cyberpunk and is much more relentless going forward, adding attacking pressure
- replaced the Flapper with Ospina who will provide real competition and stimulus for Szescny
- surprisingly added a world class player with Alexis, who is a strong quality improvement suitable for all attacking positions
- got rid of whatshisface Jenkinson to be able to groom the much more promising Bellerin
- got a solid young English impact player with Welbeck to back up our striker stalwart Giroud
- avoided temptation to mess up our wage structure and team chemistry by throwing silly money at some overhyped pseudo-big name striker from Uruguay, Colombia, Guayana, Surinam, or Curacao
- instead decided to trust in the promise of likeable, talented and quick-feeted Campbell, who we apparently already had, just out on loan, stemming from one of those tiny countries north of the ones I just mentioned.
He scored against United last year so that already adds something we didn't have.
- did not lose any other players
What more could we ask for?
Maybe another versatile defensive player, a CB/DM, would be the icing on the cake.

Re: Rate Your Club's Transfer Window
FFS
All Overmars or the club had to do was to bring in two damn players. A striker and a midfield player who can actually play with the *bleep* ball. What did we get? Loan a striker who didn't make one minute in the last 3 league games and wasn't even brought on when we were in desperate need of a goal against Groningen. What good is a loan if the player can't help us right away. Now we loaned another player - a guy who isn't good enough to play for Mainz. JESUS CHRIST wtf is wrong with this club. I know we can't bring a world class player to the Eredivisie but we have so much money it shouldn't be a problem to sign at least some decent players. Now we even sold Vermeer to Rotterdam for 1m. 1m!! Can't be real. Sell the whole *bleep* board.
1 point cause I like the young talents we brought in.

Re: Rate Your Club's Transfer Window
Since no one cares about Boca I'll mention my second favourite team/European team:
Not really happy that the team is completely overhauled i.e. too many changes for my liking. I have no problem letting Postiga and Jonas leave but we should have kept Bernat, Mathieu, Guardado and Banega. Perhaps Mathieu could go considering we really ripped Barcelona off but the rest, I'm not so sure.
I think we have signed some overrated players like Rodrigo. We really lack classy players in midfield where it used to be our strongest position over the years. I like Parejo and I think he's improving year after year but who else do we have to partner him in midfield? Racing rejects Zuculini and De Paul? Not ready. And why is Fuego still here, or let me rephrase why did we sign him in the first place?
5/10

On top of what we did, we needed a world class striker, a starting defensive midfielder and a backup CB.

Sanchez, Chambers, Debuchy and Welbeck all great signings. Needed a DM but Diaby will cover that. CB huge problem though.
