Real Madrid vs Bayern vs Manchester United 1998-2002 Rivalry
Between 1998 and 2002 were only 3 team totally dominating the CL. It were Bayern, ManU and Real Madrid! Then there came nothing...Cl-Winner: ManU (99), Madrid (2000) and Bayern (2001)!!! So I agree with all the people saying that the best Matches were between those teams at that time. Clash of the Titans!?
That was real football. Tatics, substitutes, speed and physical combats. That was when every team had a stand. That was when we loved watching it. Now its all gone, only left a bunch of pussys playing short passes and asking other players to protect "beatiful football" by letting them pass the ball and not to foul them.

Clash of the Titans for sure. And Bayern still had the one and only Titan in goal

1999 United team were good.
It was a dream come true to see them again (well some of them) during Neville's testimonial.

How. ?
Every team had a stand but some hard better stand, I mean there was true rivalry then between team that were equally match.
now is just one team dominating with shot passes and playacting.

Re: Real Madrid vs Bayern vs Manchester United 1998-2002 Rivalry
They were dominating but other teams such as Valencia, Juventus, Leverkusen, had their stand then. but between those years Manchester United, Real Madrid and Bayern were totally dominating football one of them had to knock another out to allow other teams progress, otherwise they would have end up playing each other in every final.
say for example 1999-2000 Real had to knock Man-U and Bayern out to get to final and win it.
and in 2000-2001 Bayern had to knock Man-U and Real Out to win it. No team could defeat any of this team except for one of them.

One of the best matches ever. I didn't really know the CL format at that time, and I remember screaming and celebrating because United won and I thought they qualified......only for my bro to ruin my joy by telling me United actually got eliminated.
Great, epic game though. Ronaldo was brilliant and got a well deserved standing ovation from the United fans.

I think by dominating he meant all three teams were favourites for UCL but other teams have a chance.
Not like recently where it's always Barcelona who are the sole favourites to win.

I'd also throw a mention to Real Sociedad and Athletic Bilbao. I remember Sociedad finishing in the top 4 a few times, once with a heavy influence from Alonso.Crimson wrote:Spanish Liga was so strong back then, Super Depor, Valencia, Real Madrid, Zaragoza, Mallorca and Barcelona.

^ this really grinds my gears... so what does barcelona play imaginary football? please stop whining and admit barcelona plays some of the most beautiful football in the world their passing is amazing and their set up plays is to die for...Idrisozet wrote:That was real football. have you been watching the same games that i watch some of the through balls that xavi and iniesta pull off are monstrous
and even everybody has to admit when teams play against barcelona most of them will play to foul and not actually to get the ball because thats the only way to break up their plays
