It's understandable that Madridistas want to cite Ronaldo's goal tally as much as possible, since that's the only aspect of his game that matches Messi's, apart from physical prowess.

However, I think realistically Madrid fans should stop clinging to straws and learn to accept the facts. Messi was better than Ronaldo last season, and he's the better player at the moment.

Messi scored in the CL final, and parted Madrid's defense like the Red Sea numerous times. Ronaldo banged in 7 goals in 2 games against Getafe and Almeria, when the season was over and Ronaldo's whole team were seeking him out at every opportunity.

However, this isn't to say that Messi >>> Ronaldo. Who knows, Madrid could ravage Barcelona and win the treble next season, and CR7 will get the Ballon D'or. Then, he'll be considered better than Messi.

Until then, I wish that Madrid fans could stop trying to "close the distance" between CR7 and Messi by hyping him on the forums. The sooner you accept his inferiority, the less frustrated you'll be when Messi proves that he's better time and time again, and the happier you'll be when Madrid surpasses Barcelona.

not so impressive hat-tricks, valdes would score all these goals, maybe except dzeko's goals. (maybe because valdes is not so good at headers)

cr will score joke tapins vs hopeless joke teams and joke fans will compare him to messi. Truth is that scoring in madrid is the easiest thing, at least joke teams park the bus vs barcelona but vs madrid they just give up. cr is not even a great joke striker, he lacks good first touch and close control which is very important for a world class joke striker. he is just lucky that he scores those joke tapins all the season in 6-0 joke matches and people will keep comparing him to messi. I bet if mourinho plays Higuain in every joke match 90 minutes he will score more than cr (remember when higuain was fit they had 1-2 goals difference between them). and nobody will say he is second best player. hype that cr gets is just joke
