'I trust my chances' - Real Madrid's Jose Callejon

Real Madrid winger Jose Callejon is hopeful he can make a name for himself at the club.

Callejon re-signed for Madrid earlier this summer in a €5.5 million deal, three years after leaving the club for Espanyol.

In the last few years, the Spanish capital club have seen several youngsters depart in the search for success, but Callejon hopes he will not join that list.

"I do not want what happened to Pedro Leon and Sergio Canales to happen to me, though I am aware that on this team only the best play and that it will be hard to play, but I trust my chances," Callejon said at a press conference.

The 23-year-old, who came on as a substitute in the 6-0 victory over Zaragoza in Madrid's La Liga opener, confessed he is enjoying every second at the club.

"The atmosphere, the fans, the quality of the players I train with every day and the coach, a great person with a lot of joy both on and off the pitch, everything is great," Callejon added.

The Spaniard dismissed suggestions of a feud between Ricardo Carvalho and Pepe, despite the former walking out of Portugal's training camp after learning his compatriot had moved ahead of him in the coach's pecking order for a Euro 2012 qualifier.

"There is no controversy, there are good vibes between them," Callejon noted. "If Carvalho acted that way, he must have had his reasons.

"Ever since I arrived, he has shown me he is a great professional from head to toe."
