Re: Mou's incident was payback for a previous one
blah, honestly, when I go out in real life I don't hate anything. (I do still hate Barca) but I don't take it out. I've alot of Barca fans, hell even in my family there is Barca fans but we don't hate each other.
The rivalry is bigger here on the internet, becouse here it's more usual to start hating each other for "RM/Barca trolling"

Re: Mou's incident was payback for a previous one
We can't know if he was trying to put him out of the season, but it was definitely a nasty foul and it was obvious that Marcelo did deliberetaly tried to hurt him really bad. Barca side of course, couldnt wait to take advantage of a situation like this, to start a ruckus that Real followed and so on. Real side is to blame more, I can agree on that, but Barca is not innocent exactly.futbol_bill wrote:Marcelo had just taken out their newest star and was definitley trying to put him out for the season. He's lucky the ACL was torn with his sissors move. It was right in front of the Barca bench. We would have had the same reaction if it was reversed.
And we also, can't know if we would have reacted the same; we could have reacted worse, we could have reacted better. We're no prophets here.

Re: Mou's incident was payback for a previous one
It's a culture difference People up the north react to these kind of situations a lot calmer. I'm not blaming Farca really for coming off the bench, they're hot headed, what I didn't like were the followups with Mou and Villa incidents. The scenes shouldn't occur in professional sports :lol!:skyhigh wrote:We can't know if he was trying to put him out of the season, but it was definitely a nasty foul and it was obvious that Marcelo did deliberetaly tried to hurt him really bad. Marcelo will probably get a 8-10 game ban from this... so he'll pay well enough. We really need Sahin back now because Coentrao will need to play LB.

that's too much lol, it's not like he broke cesc's leg or something.
the thing just escalated after since the fight happened.

No I agree with Nick, that's too much. Pepe got 10 games when he kicked the guy on the ground. I suspect it will be more like 3 to 5. Maximum (in relation to Pepe) would be 7. And speaking about suspensions, if Mou struck first then he also will get a multi game suspension since he is a repeat offender.
Re the comments above, no I don't say that Barca are innocent in this nor do I condone what Villa and Mou did (if it was indeed Mou who struck first, if not then Vilanova). But what set it off was Marcelo. There had been tough tackles up to his arrival but it was an excellent game. Marcelo started it with his kick to Messi and then turned it into a mess with his takeout of Cesc.
In a way I hope he learns from his suspension and the likely event that he will have to earn his spot back again since I expect Coentrao to now become our regular LB. I just hope that Sahin is ready for game action by the time this strike is over.

I don't think so, that seems lengthy to me

10 game ban? I would be really pissed there, as that stupid thing would hugely affect our league season!
I think 1 or 2 matches is fine.

Re: Mou's incident was payback for a previous one
That was a blatant scissor kick from behind with no other intention but to injure... it's not because he failed to kill Cesc that he should get off easy imo.
He also kicked Messi in the groin earlier in the game intentionally.
It's not like he or anyone on the Madrid side acted repentant either afterwards.
I think he gets hammered and hammered hard unfortunately.

It was a red card offense, and Marcelo left the field as he was told to..nothing more

You seem to be really up to date with Spanish rules.
2 days ago it was you thought we could dress 19. Now you think red card is only an exit from existing game.
Red cards in Spain are automatically reviewed, usually resulting in one additional game suspension. In a case like this it will definitely be more than 3 games. They will also likely discuss his prior yellow card when he deliberately kicked Messi in the groin. That's 2 very fowl deliberate takeouts that nearly set off a riot. No way this is just a red card and that's it.

Well, red card means one game suspension at least in all countries AFAIK. Though its true that in Spain they like banning people when it comes to Barca.
Coentrao was shit at LB, so I have no idea what we will do.

Red card rules have nothing to do with Barca. pepe 10 game suspension came from a game against Getafe. I suggest you check into other leaque since most do have this review policy. It's there to prevent repeats of Marcelo like hits.

I thought Coentrao was fine at LB. Nothing great... but then again, he hasn't played or practiced there for 3 months lol. Not as good as marcelo though.

Straight red cards always get reviewed in France too. The two yellows = red ones don't.
Additional sanctions over 1 game are discretionary based on the review in Ligue 1.

It was coentrao first ever game as LB, in a clasico and he did ok.
really disappointed with the knee jerk that unfold calling him shit and what not. no reason to be that insecure as if people were waiting for him to fail and crown marcelo as the best.
Most here havent seen him, otherwise you wouldnt be underrating him so much. If you put marcelo right now in a single game with Benfica, he will not match the best of coentrao when he was there.

'First ever game as LB'.
Come on, this guy at Benfica was supposed to be one of the best LBs in the world, OK I understand it was stupid of Mou not to try him in defence in the preseason, but he is supposed to be decent at that position. Im not saying as a player he is bad, but his performance was shit no question. When he moved to mid, he was much better.

+1
Marcelo is more suited for our system, believe it or not. I don't think Coentrao can replace him and if you ask me he was worse defensively in LB, Pedro was eating him up

Re: Mou's incident was payback for a previous one
Coentrao is a superstar LB. There's no doubt about that. I like Marcelo better... but it doesn't mean Coentrao is bad. He is much more solid on defense (less risky in the way he approaches it; just very solid).
If Sahin plays and dominates in the midfield and Coentrao does the same at LB, Marcelo will have a fight on his hands. When you get injured/suspended, that doesn't mean your starting job is there when you get back.
As Laurent Blanc keeps saying: "Those who are not here are always in the wrong."

Re: Mou's incident was payback for a previous one
First ever game in the most pressure heavy game you can think of, away from home, and you guys think it's easy? sorry but this kind of reasoning disappoint me a little. Doesnt matter how good you were before, the parameters are just completely different and you need adjusting, no matter what.
His performance was good, we didnt see the same game. He was in position, he was closing down Pedro and then Villa, winning his 1v1, limited the danger from that side, just like marcelo did in the first game. Then there is a whole chemistry to have with the rest of your team mates, which he might have lacked, and that's just natural.
If you guys expect our fullbacks to shutdown the wing against barcelona you are dreaming, it will never happen.

You're confusing me with someone else dude, because I have no idea of what you're referring to. Regardless I don't understand why you feel need to try and offend me.
I meant "nothing more" as in he didn't get involved in the post red card fight and therefore 8-10 games would not make sense. I don't appreciate you jumping down a fellow Madridista's throat for it.

Oh God, no game suspension please, especially the lengthy one.

Sorry it was halamadrid re how many players get dressed. Your names are very similar.
Re red card review for games suspension, he will most definitely be getting additional games.
