He is a great, just like Overmars should be a great, they both left in despicable manners , they're both ordinary players.

I'd say an Arsenal great.

If he had won trophies with us, then he'd probably be considered a legend which is actually quite remarkable considering his young age (hard to believe he's still 24).

Now, that may not necessarily be his fault but it's a fact that you need to have been a part of trophy winning side to have true legendary status.

Winning trophies can completely change people's perception about a player. The circumstances surrounding Fabregas' departure really isn't all that disimilar to how Vieira and Henry left the club, but the latter two are considered as legends because of the success they had with Arsenal. Fabregas didn't enjoy the same success, and his reputation will be marred by this saga. Had he won something, I don't think that'd be the case.

Many gunners have lost love for Viera but not respect, and he did not leave in the same manner Henry did please...let me get the video that made us all cry...

A player who never looked like the captain or drive force of arsenal.

A great player who wanted out simply

Arsenal Legend major reason for us retaining champions league while the stadium was built, Top three midfielder in the world.
He left the way he came in under priced.

a great.. could have been more had he stayed.. could have been up there with dennis and henry but you can never be a legend for a club when you force your way out the back door.

A player that does not have the character of a legend, instead of fighting for Arsenal to win a trophy he just strolled through the years. To shy and weak to build success around him, which is why he joined the most successful team to drink from their victory.

If the most successful team at the moment was Juve, he would have jumped ship there IMO.

On the pitch, great. Arguably the best in the PL.

Off the pitch, lost a lot of respect from a lot of people.

An Arsenal great, really thought he was gonna take the EPL before the whole thug incident with Taylor.

He will be remembered for no silverware though Sad he'll have bad memories of Drogba and Man U when thinking of the EPL Razz

but he'll have loads of great ones too, either way I don't blame him for leaving its Wengers false promises that frakked everything up IMO.

No legacy. Not an Arsenal great. You either have to win trophies or set individual records (or close to them) to be considered a legend... he did neither.

Just a footnote as a footballer imo. Will be remembered more for his Barca obsession while at Arsenal.

Once we start winning shit, he won't be remembered at all, IMO.

Hell, most Arsenal fans would gladly skip over this period of club history.

It might just strengthen the Arsenal-Barca rivalry going on.

He would be as vaguely remembered at Barca as Rustu Recber was.. Laughing

Kidding..

On a serious note ,he would be remembered as a World Class Player at arsenal who had his moments but unfortunately cannot be mentioned in the same breath as Viera or Henry..

Hes like the lebron james of the EPL, he couldn't stick around and try to win, so he left for a warm and sunny climate. Like others said, rafael captained united to more trophy's than cesc did arsenal.
