Valdes. He is now actually good, frighteningly, and with a worse goalkeeper Barca wouldve conceded much, much more.

Come up with something better then that.

I'm a neutral so I had a clear pattern on who was superior and who wasn't.

What do you mean, come up with something better? Im just offering my opinion, I couldnt be bothered if you like it or not, and by acting in that way I wonder if you're neutral or not. If you're so convinced of your superiority, then why bother discussiong with mere mortals? I have my opinion and you have yours, doesnt mean yours is right and doesnt mean you can react like that.

If real madrid play with their full squad against an undertrengthened barca side and can only draw at home, i fear an all to familiar slaughtering at the camp nou.

I think we can actually win the one in Nou, if Busquets isn't playing.

And if we play Coentrao, becouse he was very good defensively. And if we're clinical, not wasteful, but 1 goal and PTB should do it.

Yea, they were close to beating you at home. Two shotson goal, two goals scored, i expect a lamb to be sacrificed in the nou camo. The lamb being RM of course. Real MAdrids counter attack is amazing to watch, it's like watching the old united. Football at it's best.

Maybe I forgot the smily face before my retort. My mistake as I tend to do that.

Neutrality? Just offering my view on the game as I would have said the same if Barca fans pester Madrid fans on domination in a 2-2 draw if Madrid had half of their squad missing for more then a game.

So lets discuss, Valdes made some saves yet so did Casillas. But this is a goal keepers job as I'm guessing RM fans aren't used to getting shots over 7 against a possession filled Barca. Valdes simply did his job but did not change the game with his distribution or make unbelievable saves (bar the Benz header) that marks him MOTM. Conclusion is that he isn't MOTM as he did nothing extraordinary as his saves are expected of him.

Alonso on the other hand was the absolute maestro of Madrid attacks and was the architect of every play going through his boots. His control and possession of the game made the difference for Madrid as I have been trying to explain to Barca fans that when he does receive the ball in the classicos, he does wonders yet doesn't get that chance often due to Barca's possession.

Since Barca were without their midfield, he got to show why he is one of the 3 best midfielders in the world as Mou has finally started to use him to the best of his abilities as he will continue to do this with the right leverage and platform.

Madrid's most important player today and on a daily basis.

Fantastic match. really enjoyed it. I think RM deserved to win though, they were brilliant from start to finish...but such is the quality that Barca have, they scored 2 goals from nothing.

Can't wait for the return leg.

Great game, at half time Real Madrid was leading the possession stats by about 60%. I've a feeling the only thing that stands in the way of this Barcelona team from imploding, is a sudden loss of form or a long term injury to Messi and Xavi. They're just not the same without them.

We started our pre-season seven days before Barca. OMG WE ARE SO AHEAD OF THEM IN PREPARATION.

Poor excuse is poor. I don't even know why excuses were being made the result was in Barca's favour but I guess the performance must have made an impression on some Twisted Evil

I feel Marcelo was impressive in attack but let Sanchez get by him all to many times as only Sanchez's final product was lacking to magnify this.

I'm sure Marcelo will make sure to improve on this, as although I doubt Sanchez will play in the 2nd.

Disagree, wow, defensively Marcelo was owning Sanchez as well. Of course he got through sometimes, it's impossible for him not to get through, but he was a tight rope from marcela.

Yep he did but i dont blame Sanchez for any type of poor performance considering Madrid dominated the game same reason i dont blame Thiago....

One of the reasons Xavi and Iniesta is so good is because the balls they get feeded by Busquets and Pique and inturn they feed the forwards...

Thiago was being fed by Mascherano and Keita tonight :lol!:

Saying this i dont think Sanchez was poor, just had poor service really.

Nick,

I wouldn't say owning him he simply subdued his offense to the point where he could not produce the final ball.

No where near owning as many close calls for Marcelo defensively as tenacity in the end prevailed.

I didn't see Marcelo as motivated as he usually is though as this could be attributed to the Asian tour where he played many games.

WIthout the spine barca are beatable, Pique and busquets are crucial to the way barca build up from the back and it showed today. They couldnt hold on to the ball. WHat was the possession stats like?

This must be one of the few time barca has less possession than the opposition. At least la llga looks like it is going to be competitive.
