We should hold on to Greco
I saw the last night game, and Greco was dominating the midfield, great possesion, good long and short passes, good vision, and surprisingly accurate shot.He was unlucky he didnt score. Its not only the last night game, he has been decent last season for us too.And now the 4-3-3 alla Barca style suits him perfectly, I want him to stay, and im sure Enrique has taken note of his quality already.

Absolutely agree with you.
Enrique appears to be bring out the best in him and it would be very disappointing to let him because of that. I highly doubt we will anyway.
Viviani also looked very good in midfield as well.

Re: We should hold on to Greco
A month ago we could have easily seen Greco leaving, but I think he fits in well into Enrique's midfield as well, probably more so than Perrotta. He's pretty good on the ball and could hold onto it better than Perrotta who's game is more suited for those late runs into the box. With Enrique wanting to play a possession game and not on the quick counter, Greco could find himself right at home (last season he even did well whenever he had to take over for Pizarro as a regista).
I'm pretty sure Greco is going to stay and that one between Brighi and Simplicio will be leaving. It's anyone's guess at this point; Simplicio seemed to be the one on his way out (the non-EU spot being a factor), but he came in yesterday and showed he's actually in pretty good shape considering it was his first match and has stated that he wants to fight for his spot and stay on the team. Brighi, on the other hand, is said to be disappointed with his role on the team and, although his agent said he doesn't want to be transfered, I think eventually he will because he's not bound to get that much playing time.

^ Yep, I'd say Juventus did well on selling him. He has been pretty crappy for us after being so highly touted early in his career.

He did well in Spalletti's last year, but was fairly average during the other seasons.

Surprisingly, he got called up to the national team a few teams during that time.

And deservedly so. I wanted him on the Confed. Cup team, but that was probably me just being bias lol... though Palombo was unexplicably on that team despite Gattuso and De Rossi also being there, so Brighi would have probably been a viable option in that midfield.

I found that figure really weird so I looked it up. We didn't pay 16 million euros for Brighi, we got him as part of the Emerson deal. We sold Emerson for 12 million euros + Brighi. Plus, we ended up getting about 750 000 euros through his loan spell at Chievo. The value of the deal was 16 million euros, not of Brighi... or at least that's what I made of it.

Re: We should hold on to Greco
Give him a new contract. I dont think he is looking for a lot of money, 1m per year would be enough.
He is having a decent campaign under Luis Enrique.

Re: We should hold on to Greco
Still hasn't really impressed me. Was very poor against Udinese, but has done well against both Juve and Napoli. He's done enough to stay with us, but not enough to hold down a starting spot. He's solid, steady, but rather unspectacular.

Re: We should hold on to Greco
Looks like I got Brighi's exit right (easy one to predict, but still).
Anyways, a few months later and my thoughts haven't changed. Greco started off the season slowly, but two good performances have put him in the spotlight. A few teams are reportedly interested in him, but I think we should hang onto him. Same goes for Simplicio, who, along with his agent, have repeated that he wants to stay with us.

Re: We should hold on to Greco
Agreed. They should probably both stay though. And am I the only one who wouldn't hate to see Pizarro sold? I mean we have enough injury prone players as is, and he has a 1.5 mil + contract..

Re: We should hold on to Greco
Palermo is also a possible destination for Pizarro.
But honestly, do you think Pirlo and Pizarro could actually play together? I doubt it, and I doubt Pizarro is going to want to be relegated to the bench for good. He only has another year and a half to play at the top level imo. A couple of months ago I wouldn't have wanted us to let go of him by any means. But now, seeing as how we have Viviani coming up, Simplicio and Greco are putting in good performances and that Pizarro's fitness is unreliable, I think it might be time to move on...
