Re: Neymar vs Flamengo
I can't believe I didn't watch this match. My internet is frakked and the new one will arrive today, one day too late. But what makes me angrier is to know that we lost 5x4, at home, after leading 3-0. Wtf happened? Can anyone tell me? Were we too stupid or something? Relaxed too much? What happened? Elano apparently missed a penalty. I curse the day I called him one of the best free kick takers in Brazil lol, I totally jinxed him. In his defense, his family were robbed and his father was almost kidnapped on Monday, I don't think he's well, mentally.. which makes me wonder why the hell he was told to take it.

Re: Neymar vs Flamengo
btw 4x5 is rare in brazilian football, contrary to what some may think around here. journalists all over are calling it a historical game, the best of the season, so unique it was.. i just cant believe we lost it

Whoa, amazing match. Ronaldinho's freekick was genius. He scored a similar during his Barca days vs. Werder Bremen. Gently placing it under the wall. Beautiful. Neymars run was crazzzzzzzzy as well.

Here are the highlights if anyone is interested. I'm currently watching them. From what I head though, it seems like Ronaldinho had a fire lit up his ass.

Re: Neymar vs Flamengo
So is losing after leading 3-0 worse than drawing after leading 4-0, or do I still have to feel like shit about that? haha

You'd be pissed to know that Elano's penalty attempt was a chip, which the goalkeeper read all the way and saved very comfortably.

Lol i think we feel just as bad as you must've felt back then.

Yeah I've just watched the highlights. And his assist on our first was so amazing, he really blew it. A 30-year-old player should know better than trying to prove to the world that he is good at penalties (after the one he took for brazil), that goal might've meant we'd go on to win the match, or at least draw lol. Even our coach said that "the fans were easy on him [by booing him]", so ugly and careless it was. Apparently, he had been training penalties and had been doing alright, but he had not trained the chipping one.
Anyway, this is what many people said would happen to Ronaldinho: he will continue to show glimpses of his genius when he is under pressure, but he'll never be that Dinho again. What "better" pressure than having the two biggest young stars on Brazil sharing the pitch with you?
At least his has shown that Santos have finally started to play the league, we'll bounce back .

Re: Neymar vs Flamengo
I was just glad to see glimpses of the old Ronaldinho. He performed well, and some said he even outshined Neymar. From what I saw, he played really well and always seemed to be willing to pass the ball. He didn't necessarily want to be the focal point of the team, just as long as the team won. Thats the vibe I got, but I only watched a few videos on youtube so I could very well be wrong
And yes, Elano's assist for the first goal was magical. To be able to see that open space, and then deliver such an accurate pass, is something he should be proud of. But, as you said, he completely blew it with that penalty. The worst way to not score a penalty is to see your chip saved. Missing is understandable, the shot getting saved can be credited to good goalkeeping or bad luck, but a chip or panenka getting saved just looks really bad....as if the player doesn't care or didn't put in much effort.

Re: Neymar vs Flamengo
When I saw all his goals, one after the other like that, I was just in awe....He had such a sweet shot on him. As soon as the ball leaves his foot, you just know that its heading towards that corner, and that the goalkeeper can do nothing to stop it

Re: Neymar vs Flamengo
Messi untouchable for three years? Nah...more like 2 years or even a bit less. Next year will probably be his too though, unless players like Ronaldo and RVP (Oh yes, I consider him to be as good as those two, and I'm allowed to be biased ) step up as well.
My favorite Dinho goal was that one against Sevilla

Unfortunately Tiote will boss him so hard on August 13th that he will never mentally get over it

Damn Dinho was sublime! And as for Neymar, the just showed the world why he is rated so highly. People jumping on him after flopping in his first international tournament with a newly built team at the age of 19, ridiculous.

Ronaldinho will always have these glimpses, to show the world what he once was like.
The worst thing about that penalty, is knowing the fact that Elano is 30 years old, or 31 idk, he should know better, he should simply KNOW BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Neymar did the same last year, he tried to do a panenka and the keeper just stayed in the middle of the goal and caught the ball lol. The difference is that Neymar was just 18, and that it happened before all the troubles he created last year, which did lead him to a higher degree of maturity. So he had an excuse... Elano didn't, he was selfish, trying to prove the world that he is good at penalties instead of caring about Santos winning. But he does have a lot of credit with us, so I'm willing to forgive him as long as he never does it again.

True, especially at Flamengo's first goal, Rafael failed hard. But if you watched him at the Libertadores, basically the best GK in the tournament, you'd know that he just had a bad day. That guy is worth 30m I think, and Roma have just tried to get him but they didn't offer enough.
