Re: England is not n never been a football powerhouse
Kevin Nolan would start for the Copa America champions.
That's all you need to know about England's depth

what have spain and holland done in 06?Arsenalfaithfull wrote:Ganso wrote:Arsenalfaithfull wrote:They were a force to be reconed with between96-2004 in my opinion. England being overrated is such a lazy statement at this point. When in reality, other "power houses" have failed to deliver time in and again aswell. *cough* Brazil, Argentina, Italy
This is another case of Europe aimlessly hatin on England.
Note that i did not say they are going to win the wc or the Euros anytime soon, but then Neither are Brazil or Argentina. (and they sure as hell would not win the euro if they were to participate in it somehow)
lol i know im going ot be roasted for those words. But be subjective, what have those other 2 countries done during the last few wc to warrent such acclaim?
besides brazil is playing home man....

England's talents are great, but greater are their chocking abilities, sadly.
Also, they are the horniest men on earth, too buzy frakking rather than training.

Re: England is not n never been a football powerhouse
England did not make a semi-final in big tournament since Euro 1996 which they hosted. Even Turkey made semi-finals in last decade (WC 2002, Euro 2008). Until England make a semi-final appearance they won't be taken seriously by neutrals IMO.

pff...Gargano, I give you that, but Perez ?
Gargano to sit deeper and Let Nolan run the midfield making runs behind the front 2.
Nolan is an outstanding player and a massive battler. Watch him bring WHU up all by his own.
If his name was Nolaninho, or Nolanunez, He'd be rater 10x more highly

And Diego Perez isn't every bit Nolan's equal?
They're both the same, except Perez can play as a FB on any side.
And yeah, if a player is Argentinian or a Brazilian they're bound to be overhyped as well.

Their homegrown managers have 0 tactical ability, TBH.
But yeah, if Italians can't make it work then there's little hope.

He is seriously under-rated. Barton-Wilshere-Nolan should be England's 3 man midfield and I swear to god, I am not kidding

If the English players weren't so overpriced, Wenger would have made the perfect England national team.

Re: England is not n never been a football powerhouse
^^ Barton had the best season of all English midfielders last season. Even better than Wilshere IMO. and he isn't a nutcase anymore.
Seriously, the Barton-Nolan-Carroll trio was an absolute joy to watch in the first half of PL. They really tore team to shreds.... last time they all played together Newcastle lost 2-1 to Man City, but absolutely dominated City in all areas of the pitch.
Shame Nolan and Barton were injured in Nov, which resulted in some bad results and Houton's sacking.
I loved watching those 3 play, and I am serious. Not taking the piss

Well, I'd rather play Nolan as a DM next to a guy who can run up a and down the field and distribute the ball.
Barton is a Destroyer type but so is Nolan. Two Destroyes won't let England keep the ball long enough, IMO. 'Less your going to Counter Attack with England.
