Toni Kroos vs Mesut Oezil

Both are extremely talented players with immense potential.At the moment Kroos is having a blinder of a season and Oezil so far has been underwhelming for Real Madrid.

Who do you think is better and who will be more important for Germany in the years to come ?

They play the same position, but in Germany Kroos is usually deployed deeper, as a regista. In Bayern he plays in an advanced role, where he can pull off those killer passes and shoot more.

I don't see Oezil being displaced in Germany anytime soon, and if he is it'll be by Goetze. So Germany wise, it would be Mesut. Kroos is a key player in Bayern, though, which is no easy feat.

Kroos:
Decent stamina, completely two footed, awesome shooting technique, can play deeper, decent tackler and actually has 2 lungs.

Oezil:
Great technique and dribbler, fast as hell, has a better eye for the pass, is "flashier" as in is a better flair player.

Form wise, Kroos is currently better but don't write Mesut off.

Before anyone thinks I'm trolling Kroos........Germany runs everything through Ozil....if they had a star...it would be him......

BTW Ozil definitely has 2 lungs now and can use his right foot.

IMO It's gonna be hard to displace either Muller or Ozil......and well Goetze when he actually finds his place.Maybe kroos can play next to schweini or even replace Shweini.

2 seasons ago Kroos was better and this season Kroos has taken back his rightful position as the best player in Germany behind only Schweinsteiger

And I'd hope none of the people in that poll would change their opinion based on that match. Apart from one pass I don't recall much of what kroos did before the red card

Doesnt matter,i bumped my thread.It was a debatable argument at that time too plus Kroos was in better form.

This isnt a reaction to this particular game but i thought now was a good occasion to bump it.Toni Kroos needs more recognition

Grab Ozil add a decent work ethic and an engine and you get Kroos.

Ozil is a superior 10. Kroos is a better CM.

They don't play the same position. Kroos is a CM, and Ozil is a CAM, end of. Kroos would get decimated playing as a #10, something Joachim tried to experiment with against Chile. There were two key chances for Germany in that game, one ended up in a goal, the other should have ended up in a goal as well. Who do you think created those two goals? Kroos, or the best #10 in the world?

Kroos played #10 all the time for Heynckes' Bayern.

Still prefer Ozil though I didn't vote at the time.

I used to prefer Ozil, but I think Madrid selling him broke him mentally. I still think he is capable of being the player he once was, but I don't think we will see it this season.

CM vs CAM. Oezil just needs more movement in front of him so that he can do his magic and he'll be fine. I do not believe that he's struggling adapting to the different schedule or "out of form".
